Today the new Directeur des services actifs of the Gallic Royal Police announced in front of the Direction Générale de Police Judiciaire de Paris here on Planet New Paris a major recruitment drive for new officers to join their ranks to coincide with the construction of the first Royal Police Capitol ship to be commissioned in many years. He has been quoted saying:

“For the past few years the GRP has been plagued with stories of corruption, embezzlement, laundering and cavorting with the very criminals they were meant to police. In recent times the Gallic Royal Navy took over the main duties of the disgraced police force and have since then been both Military and Local law enforcement.

However the Navy's focus is on the invasion of Bretonia as it should be. Its creation of the Gendarmerie has worked wonders to fill the gap left by the Royal Police, but the Gendamerie assets are still limited by the greater need at the war front. We cannot continue to let them deal with the Council, Brigands and the recent increase in foreign traffic alone”

It is hoped that with the appointment of a new Directeur des services actifs the Royal Police will become the beacon of Law and Order that Gallia needs, Theo Decass who has been given the monumental task of turning the Police's fortunes, delivered this speech along with the announcement

Citizens of the Crown, followers of our Majesty King Charles XI.
I come before you, as the newly appointed Directeur of our Royal Police forces, but firstly I come before you as one of you, one who is proud of our nation, our Gallia, for all that it has achieved, for everything it continues to achieve. From our beginnings isolated from the rest of Sirius, to a fully fledged power in that Demands to be respected!

We have much to be proud of:
  • Our manufacturing and economic strength is the envy of the galaxy.
  • Our Traders span the stars with countless flocking for the chance of commerce.
  • Our Navy is something that the rest of Sirius are in awe at, its power unrivalled throughout.
  • Our King of course we are proud to serve our King.
But there is one thing, one blot in Gallia that stains our pride. That is the Royal Police.

It became a disgrace to our house, acting with a sheer lack of any respect for what it means to be an officer of the Crown. From a glorious institution in its prime, to a diseased shell. A mere shadow to the Royal Navy

But no more, the Navy are valiantly fighting in Bretonia, against it and its Liberty Allies, it can no longer be expected to be both Military and law enforcement. Its time for the Royal Police to step up to its duties, to wipe off the mistakes of the past, and to bring Order to Gallia, to become the Proud force for justice this house deserves!

Today we saw the launch of the First Royal Police Obstinate Class Cruiser, the Palais de Justice

And to celebrate its launch we have opened the doors to all recruitment offices across Gallia, we are now asking you, the people, if you want to be part of the arm for justice in Gallia, then head to your local offices and sign up.

Together, it will be our duty to restore the Honour to the Royal police.

After his speech the new Directeur went back inside the GRP's headquarters where he will begin officially his new role in rebuilding not only the Police's forces, but its reputation as well. We for one will be fully supporting Theo Decass, and if the turn out to his speech was anything to go by, so is Gallia.
