Issues getting Discovery to work - Chaotic Ambition - 02-15-2009

Hello, I guess you could say I'm a born again Freelancer:Pand your mod seems more interesting than most of the other mods you can find out there. However I seem to be at a standstill trying to get it to work. I have the 1.3 mod manager and I downloaded Discovery v4.84 but every time I try to extract it into the mod folder it comes up saying "Error: unable to extract a file from mod archive 'Discovery484' file possibly corrupt" then Mod Manager automatically opens and it shows the Discovery Mod v4.84 in the mod list but doesn't activate. I have tried deleting and re-downloading the mod but it doesn't seem to matter where I get the file from it keeps saying it's corrupt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Well, I believe this would solve the problem:

1. Backup your saves or multiplayer account ID.
2. Delete the mod.
3. Delete FLMM.
4. Delete Freelancer.
5. Delete the remains of the Freelancer directory, and the FLMM directory.
6. Install FL again.
7. Install FLMM again.
8. Activate the Disco mod.
9. Play.

Also, welcome to Discovery, read the rules, and have fun.
I suggest reading around the forums, and also other members' welcome threads, cause there's a lot of advice around.

Thank you for your swift reply (no pun intended). However this would be the third time I have completely wiped my computer of everything freelancer related in an attempt to get it working properly. Is there anything else I could try before deleting everything again?

Try the How To Make Freelancer Work On Vista tutorial, if you have Vista.

ok, sorry but I have one more problem. I used the shortcut included in the Mod but the server still doesn't show up on the server list. I read through the instructions a couple more times but all it says I have to do is use the included shortcut. Have I missed something else?

Sorry to be such a bother.

This is what says in my target box.

D:\Igre\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe -s82.113.48.5:2302

If you have installed the game in a different folder, just change it accordingly. The important part is the bolded one.

I trust you can figure it out.

Use the Global server workaround 1.0 if you want to see other servers...
