2. What exactly are you requesting?
Freelancer IFF, SRP ID Thanatos-class Crayter Cruiser, with Natio Octavarium ID rules and pure-tech (ie. generic cruiser weapons) loadout.

4. Why is this request necessary for the continuation of this character's roleplay?
The support that an additional cruiser provides to Natio Octavarium is both in combat and non-combat roles. In combat, the artillery support and escalation-matching capabilities of a capital ship is important to maintain and gain ground against forces with similar and exceeding capabilities. Out of combat, a heavy cruiser is a stepping stone and working test platform for refining the Fourth Octavarium Fleet's ability to maintain and staff larger vessels without immediately jumping to the scale of a battleship or carrier to perform the role of a military and political flagship.

5. What short-term and long-term goals are you planing to achieve on this character?
Short term: Force projection; there's a war on, don't you know.

Long term: The Unforgiven is a mid-range heavy cruiser designed to extend the will and power of Natio Octavarium through the active delivery of payloads to their targets. Natio Octavarium has recently entered a state of war with a force that fields battleships, and cannot easily match that power; building, maintaining and staffing a battleship is a difficult and expensive endeavour with an almost purely strategic capacity, but cruisers are much easier to work with and much more versatile. It also serves as an active offensive platform in which to test the Natio's in-development artificial intelligence program designed to reduce crew loads and collapse the roles of battlefield analyst and executive officer into a single, living intelligence with direct access to real-time tactical data.

October 22-26, 825 A.S. - To: Natio Octavarium | From: The Lane Hackers - An ultimatum and a proposal all wrapped up in one: The Lane Hackers and Natio Octavarium formally bury the hatchet and sign a formal treaty of alliance, restoring the strategic bonds between the two factions.
October 26, 825 A.S. - To: Hellfire Legion | From: Natio Octavarium | [backdoor-blind-autoprop] - As part of the formal LH-NO alliance, the Natio steps into the lukewarm war between the Lane Hackers and the Hellfire Legion, publicly informing the Legion of their taking the Lane Hackers' side.
October 28-30, 825 A.S. - To: Crayter Republic | From: Natio Octavarium - The Taskmastership of the Fourth Octavarium Fleet asks the Crayter Republic if they have any spare cruiser-class hulls; the Crayter Military responds with a hearty affirmative.
October 31, 825 A.S. - The Lane Hackers - Natio Octavarium Alliance Declaration - The LH-NO alliance is formally declared and signed.

Phase 2: Refit and Readiness

October 31, 825 A.S. - Natio Octavarium Internal Affairs, entry 88 - Aquila Defense Systems and Octavarium Research and Development take possession of the Thanatos-class heavy cruiser hull for transit back to Tau-44.
November 1, 825 A.S. - Maxim #39, entry 6 - ORAD head of engineering Florence Clemens takes notes on the status of the Thanatos and its Hydra counterparts.
November 3, 825 A.S. - Reconstruction, entry 10 - ORAD and ADS survey and build refit schematics of the Thanatos and make plans to acquire additional materiel and equipment for the ship.

Phase 3: Intelligence and Integration

November 13, 825 A.S. - Reconstruction, entry 11 - Taskmaster Miller discusses the state of the ship with Cerise, the artificial sophontic intelligence serving as the executive officer.
November 16-18, 825 A.S. - [Fleet Internal] Warship Database: OCS Unforgiven - The formal internal documentation on the Thanatos-O refit project and the documentation on OCS Unforgiven.
November 19, 825 A.S. - Natio Octavarium Internal Affairs, entry 92 - The Unforigven is formally announced to the Fleet, and command of the vessel is formally transferred to Taskmaster Rodney Miller.

A years-old cold war comes to and end, and another one goes hot: The Lane Hackers and the successors to the Vagrant Raiders put their historical hostilities to rest and re-enter a state of formal alliance for technological, monetary, and political gain. The Natio, as part of their obligations in the treaty, declare a state of hostility against the Hellfire Legion for crimes of treason against the Lane Hackers and the Vagrant Raiders seven years prior.
Realizing the need for heavy artillery to support a war against a military force with battleships and a potential grudge, the Fourth Octavarium Fleet reaches out to the Crayter Republic and secures the working, bare-bones hull, drive section, and internals of a Thanatos-class heavy cruiser. Aquila Defense Systems engineers and tugs help bring the ship back to Tau-44 for refitting and testing.
Due to the recent peacetime decommissioning of the cruiser, and the experience Octavarium Research and Development had in rebuilding OCS Black Cloud II, refits to the Thanatos are fast and held back primarily by procurement issues. Taskmaster Kane sources heavy artillery while the fabrication bays on Canberra Star City produce point-defense weaponry. Aquila Defense System installs the plating in the meantime and the final ship comes together with little incident.
The Fleet names the ship OCS Unforgiven and installs a new Lovelace artificial sophontics unit named Cerise in the CIC of the ship. Taskmaster Rodney Miller is named the ship's primary CO.

8. How long has this character been building its backstory?
Natio Octavarium has been developing roleplay on and off since 2013. Harold Kane (played by Kazinsal), the character leading Natio Octavarium, has been a part of Discovery and of the Vagrant Raiders and their lineage since early 2010. Victor Delacroix/Escher (played by Thexare), the character who is the deputy leader of Natio Octavarium and leader of the Octavarium Intelligence Commission, has also been a part of Discovery and of the Vagrant Raiders lineage since 2010. Rodney Miller (also played by Kazinsal) is a new addition to the Taskmastership of the Octavarium Fleet. Natio Octavarium has been an official faction since 2018, and the story of Natio Octavarium was an official faction under the Vagrant Raiders from 2009-2011 and 2013-2014.
