Rheinland-Liberty - Chico - 02-17-2009 Firstly, I have to apologise for blatant plagiarism to Zeltak.... Before this starts I would like to make some things very clear: - This is just an idea. That means it is not an official stance/demand on anyone - Feedback is wanted. You are free to write both negative and positive feedback, just make sure that it's constructive. Writing a post such as: "Yeah good idea." is as bad as writing: "This idea sucks." I value your motivation(s) to your opinion. - No flaming whatsoever. Which should cover any form of personal attacks against me or any other person. If such flaming occurs the admins/moderators will make sure that they are removed. -------------------------- Now for my idea: It is a known fact that when the mod updates to 4.85, Liberty and Rheinland houses will initiate a war against each other due to the growing tensions between them. And when this war begins, it is most likely that some Unlawful Groups from both houses will in one way or another meddle with the conflict. What I was wondering is what 'way' will it be? I know you lot have some very interesting opinions on this and to be honest, it's just an expansion of another thread elsewhere on this board so a big THANKS to ZELTAK. For an example:- The Hessians, it appears, will likely support Rheinland (and reasons have been explained elsewhere). The SCRA will probably support the weaker side in an effort to prolong the war (does that mean weaker there and then at that skirmish or weaker overall i.e Rheinland)? So, what about the Rogues, Xenos and Hackers? ( I think I can guess the Xenos...). Which way would they jump if they saw Rheinland military raiders in Liberty? What is GMG's position on this? What do the Bundschuh think about it? LWB, opinions please? What about groups who are not directly involved? How about house shippers from Kusari or Bretonia and the pirates who prey on them (Blood Dragons and corsairs etc)? More trade? Will Rheinland/Liberty pirate loyalists protect them? Ignore them? Pirate them? What will be Libertys approach to this war? Will they offer bribes/bounties to smaller factions? Privateer contracts? Find allies further south and free up the artifact trade (hey, I had to put that in, I'm biased:P). What do the Rheinland Military think about being offered assistance by their enemies? (Probably grab it with both hands..). Whats the RM's approach? Will they offer 'incentives'? Maybe 'concessions'? Any ideas on this? Rheinland-Liberty - swift - 02-17-2009 As you probably know, the Xenos will of course, in perfect unison with their RP, always side with Liberty against any foreign incursion. Rheinland-Liberty - Zelot - 02-17-2009 I think alot of these things will be decided with player rp, both in-game and on the forums. Each faction should discuss where they would stand on it, in an rp sense, and see what is offered to them or what they are threatened with. Rheinland-Liberty - Varyag - 02-17-2009 I know the hessians will side with rhein but the info card for the id kinda messes with that a little. Most of the Rhein pirates are pretty patriotic I think when it comes to being from rheinland. Even though they think the current gov. is crap:) Xeeners will deff support lib. I would guess that the Rouges might as well. The rest of the pirates would probly just like to see both burn. Rheinland-Liberty - mwerte - 02-17-2009 Republican would probably convert Alster to warship production. And would make sizable donations to the war effort. Probably subsidized by moving goods within liberty. Rheinland-Liberty - ProwlerPC - 02-17-2009 ' Wrote:What is GMG's position on this? I'd say GMG would be almost thrilled at the prospect of RM being busy with a war against Liberty. I doubt they'd commit anything to that war though. At the most GMG may take advantage of the distraction to rid Sirius of Kruger once and for all, leaving what's left to merge with ALG. (sorry Coriko :P) Aside from that any other form of aggression from GMG would be using too much resources with very little motivation. Rheinland-Liberty - Ash - 02-17-2009 It's arguable weather certain pirates such as the Bundschuh would side with Rheinland. As they are aiming to topple the reigime there. It may have the similar principles to the Molly - Kusari 'under the table' agreement. Rheinland-Liberty - blubba - 02-17-2009 A Molly - kusari under the table agreement eh? Interesting. By under the table, I assume the Bretonians specifically don't know about it? I would imagine the Bundschuh would see lots of potential in this conflict. I can see the Rogues carrying on business as usual. They'd have no problem with taking the odd Rheinland raiding party though I would think. I wonder if any info-cards will be edited to suit the conditions in 4.85 Rheinland-Liberty - MB52 - 02-17-2009 The GMG will most certainly raise fuel prices... and profit.. doubt they'd go to war. Rheinland-Liberty - Grumblesaur - 02-17-2009 If the Rogues fight with Liberty and the Hessians with Rheinland, this is gonna tear the Outcast alliance apart. Also, since there will be a Kusari/Bretonia War: Mollys, Gaians, Corsairs, Hogosha, Farmer's Alliance, Blood Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums... Basically, stuff's goin' down. The pirates, if loyal to their country at all, will begin to re-merge with the houses. I could see the BDs and GCs using guerrilla tactics on the KNF and BAF. Gaians, Corsairs, and their friends will be fighting Outcasts in the Taus and Mollys in Bretonia. And the Kusari terrorists. Mollys will be playing sides with Bretonia and Kusari. And as for the rest: Gallians and Junkers will either ally with the Zoners, or attempt universal domination. |
