Overwatch was founded by Alexander Doyle in 623 A.S., under the name Black Ice, as a Bretonian private security company. In 704 A.S., in response to the Bundusch and the Red Hessians, Black Ice changed its name to Overwatch and became a publicly traded company. Through this sale of stock Overwatch raised money to expand its facilities and workforce to better offer services to the Rheinland Military and Police. This expansion also included the founding of an independent communication division and a research division, both of which are rumored to serve as fronts disguising some of Overwatchs more questionable practices including interrogation and espionage.
Currently the company still makes the majority its income off of its highly successful security service which has expanded into private military contracting. The security force garners a wide variety of recruits including ex-convicts, retired military personal, law enforcement personal, and civilians. At this time Overwatch maintains five training-facilities; some of which are also used for training by local law-enforcement. During training for Overwatch's Security Service, recruits are trained in a wide variety of disciplines including cognitive re-alignment and fortification, hand to hand combat and advanced combat tactics. If they show aptitude in space flight they may receive training in such areas as advanced combat maneuvering, dogfighting and inter-squadron co-ordination. The Security Service, in addition to private military contracting serves as the bulk of the company's security personal, found present wherever Overwatch has assets.
Overwatch Incorporated Services include the following:
Providing system security
|__Hailing inside limited access areas of the faction
|__Conducting secondary hail/interception inside limited access areas of the faction.
|__Conducting security patrols of limited access areas of the faction.
Enemy control
|__Tracking enemy vessels within the ZOIs of the faction.
|__Provide immediate interception of enemy vessels of the faction.
Escorting
|__Providing IMPORTANT convoys the maximum of security,
|__Destroying enemy ships within proximity of the convoy.
(Note: escorts will not protect small and independent trading vessels unless specifically mentioned in the contract.)
Overwatch Incorporated will not be affiliated with :
)Acts of terrorism against any lawlful or unlawlful base or planet.
)Open pirating of trading ships in Sirius space.
Overwatch Incorporated ID and IFF :All Overwatch members and ships will be tagged with NO IFF and will be equiped with standard Mercernay ID.
Overwatch Incorporated Ranks and Naming:
1) Recruit

3) Sergant
4) Lieutnant
5) Captain
6) Major
7) Colonel
8) Major Genera
9) Brigadier General
10) General
All Overwatch ships will be tagged as follow : OI|
Example : OI|William.Doyle
Note : Ranks will not appear in ship names for security reasons.
Communication Division has been created by the Overwatch to make contact with factions willing to hire them. It is rumored they may also serve to collect information discreetly.

Overwatch Rules :
- During a contract or a mission, no ship belonging to a member of a faction not in the contract will be fired upon unless in self defense.
- We are NOT pirate hunters, or unlawful ships hunter, we do not interact unless provoked or under contract to do so.
- All our ships are equipped with a device that will disable to pilot in case of failing to obey their immediate superior or the rules of Overwatch. The ship will auto-pilot to the nearest friendly or neutral base and will be picked up later and escorted to a secure facility.

That would be why. Needs to just say splitters in general.

Splitter would be a weapon technology that the company kept during their time in Bretonia, therefor use it for their ships

Bizarre hostile list. Xenos I can see. Nomads, Wild, and Phantoms are standard-issue hostiles. Gaians make sense with the Bretonian roots.

Going by the faction description, a Bretonian Private Security company, while still being based in Bretonia, expanded its services into Rheinland.
Going by first hand experience, a Bretonian Private Security company, while being based in Bretonia, attacks Liberty Forces pilots, with Liberty essentially being Allied with Bretonia.
Any explanation with that?
