Comrades,

Recent studies of gravitational fluctuations in Sub-Siberian Ice Field Region and up until Barrier Nebula in Omega 49, which followed anomalous sensors activity, led us to conclude that further studies involving empirical surveys and experiments are needed. We presume that previously theorised models for Coalition-developed FTL travels based on temporal tear of the fabric of space-time can now be tested given recent advances in understanding the nature of hyperspace and favourable space phenomena observable in Omega 52 and Omega 49. The overall goal of the studies and the research facility is to create a relatively stable jumphole into either previously known or unknown systems. The success can simplify the logistics for the Coalition and provide grounds for further expansion and colonisation.


The studies of the kind, however, require immense energy and cannot be performed on our mobile research platforms like CPRV "Plesetsk". Recent survey indicated a perfect spot in Omega 49 system, quadrants 2/3 E/F for the construction of the R&D facility. The spot is within the baricentre of the neighbouring stars that should provide a stable position of the installation in the Lagrange point L1 of the stars without falling into the gravitational well of either one. The point is perfect for observing typical gravitational ripple and juxtaposing it to any abnormal behaviour of space-time continuum, as well as is the cheapest for maintaining the facility.


The anomalous gravitational phenomena in the area are estimated to pose no obstacle for the construction of the facility. The further points are to be considered while developing the construction project:

• Solar Panles for harnessing the power of the Star for day-to-day needs of the crew
  
• Fusion Reactor for Research needs
  
• Current base is to serve as the basis for further research modules
  
• docking module is to support ships of all sizes
  
• planned construction of "golden shield" for the protection from EMP and external interference
