At 2256 STC, in the 15th of this month, the Stirling advanced warning sensor grid, comprised by passive and active buoys, detected a nuclear detonation on Gran Canaria, planet side in sector BL0677. In a more accurate position, John Henry Holliday estate, Tombstone. Immediate S&R was issued and the posterior 48 hour in-system traffic records were analysed. Also, the 17th and 43rd wings of the Stirling were deployed to scan all traffic heading in both directions towards the planet.
4th Dragoons of the 2nd IAF BRS'd and deployed to the sector with radiation gear. 241 Plutonium grade was used, a staple of the Rheinland black market, detonation occuring at zero ground level with its flashpoint centered on the location of the main house. Parts with the serial numbers attributed to the bretonian-make vessel CXFHTAG8749175 were found six kilometers out of the blast. Current estimates indicate an area of 100.000 square kilometers being poisoned by the fallout, with 5000 souls in its range. 5th Anglic broke cover and retrieved and allocated said persons to Port Jackson for radiation treatment, while keeping them under heavy security, due to the possibility of whoever did this be in those numbers. Vessel CXFHTAG8749175 belongs to the Cambridge University, namely Chancellor William Mortimer, who was reported by his very own personnel that he would be conversing John Henry Holliday in his estate, Tombstone. Said vessel did logged entrance in Gran Canaria three hours prior to the nuclear explosion. Our people in Port Jackson logged his entrance into atmo and logged his landing in Tombstone, twenty five minutes afterwards. No liftoff was detected of that vessel and as you know, all Bretonian vessels are tracked by Port Jackson while in-planet.
And this is where statements grow fuzzy. One Consensus Alessa Samson, sent the notice Sirius-wide stating a Bretonian vessel originating from Cambridge landed minutes before the explosion, inkling also that it had something to do with it. The only Bretonian vessel from Cambridge that landed in the four hour time-frame was the Chancellor's one, according to our system wide records, as well Port Jackson ones. No proof have been submitted of such claim by Ms. Samson. There is also inkling of a corsair angle, again without proof from Ms. Samson, and quite frankly amazing since John Henry Holliday defended the Corsairs in the summit quite fiercely. Later on, the statement changes still without processual or validation proof.
I am no investigator, but obviously there is a severe gap in the timeline recounted by Ms. Samson. Also, the last sighting of John Henry Holliday was his Yatch heading towards direction unknown, not being registered in Poole. Ms. Samson seems to be in that very same Yatch due to the communication issued.
If you so wish, I can relay orders to the 99th R&I to procure the ships manifest and crew from the local T&C that controls the docking rings. On another note, Operation Teardrop has finalized with success, all drops accounted for. Snowfall is set and ready to be deployed on your command.

Regarding the Chancellor of the University you have done well in taking over from the BPA, this is out of their jurisdiction for the time being however it is advised they be informed none the less as it is still within their authority to be told. That being said you have people on the ground so contain the radiated zone and keep civil traffic away, I'm sure you are already doing that but for the sake of having it on record.
Sent your orders to the 99th Admiral, the more information the better. While the Chancellor's death is, ultimately, insignificant. A weapon of mass destruction is another story, if the chancellor manages to lead us to answers in death, then we can ensure some justice can be given in return.

We are monitoring the situation closely and our on-board analyst reported that the initial figures were conservative, putting it up now to a 150.000 square kilometers. The explanation is that Gran Canaria is one of a kind, with its unique conditions. Situation may develop even further due to atmospheric variables. In that increase, the city of Freemantle is now under danger.
