After passing Basic Education she was accepted into Hamburg university where through a Professor of Sociology she found out about the Alster Union and the Unioner movement as a whole. Valentina decided to join the Student Union and became somewhat of a radical and joined the Free Speech Movement in protest against bans on discussing far-left political ideology on campus. Valentina was eventually arrested, spending a few weeks in a jail cell before her Mother got her released. Her Mother gave her two options either she complete her studies and stay out of trouble, or she leaves and never be supported again. Valentina decided to remain eventually graduating with a doctorate in theoretical propulsion systems. After a brief stint working on engines for ALG Ships to save money, Valentina decided to leave Hamburg entirely in search of the Unioners that she heard of. After browsing through dark web, she eventually got in contact with Gunda Riehl and joined the Unioners officially. She cut ties with her Mother completely, and now is the captain of the gunboat Barbarossa and pilot of the Hammonia. Although Valentina has had some difficulty adjusting to Unioner life, so far she would not take it back for anything else. She is finally accepted by peers for her brilliance and is treated equal by others. Although she does have misgivings about engaging a certain Rheinland Military pilot that she is fond of.
