When the Norfolk departed for the Omega-3 system in hopes of wresting control of Aland shipyard from the Independent Miners Guild, a power vacuum was created in the Cambridge system. Despite significant defense garrisons remaining behind at the system's capital planet, other installations throughout the system remained woefully undefended.

This, combined with the relocation of the Corsair battleship Fes, created a prime target for the Mollys - Cardiff Mining Facility. While Cardiff had been the property of the Mollys' friends in the IMG for many years, Bretonia's capture of the station turned it into a prime target. Cardiff is lightly defended, far from assistance, and contains an abundant cache of mining equipment which the Mollys intend to seize.

The Destroyer Shillelagh has departed New London to take up position behind Planet Sarum to rendezvous with combatants from the IMG. Together, this joint strike force intends to deal a decisive blow upon the stolen mining facility.

This is a slotted combat event acting as a precursor to the destruction of Cardiff mining facility.
Precursor events do not affect the outcome of the storyline, but allow players to play out events ingame leading up to planned changes anyway.

- Slots are infinite but will only be filled evenly. If there is an overabundance of players for one side they will not be slotted in.
- The Mollys will be able to dock special transports on Cardiff to raid the base, taking hostages and stealing mining equipment. These transports have destructible engines, so that the Bretonian forces can attempt to rescue the hostages.
- Players for event transports will be handled in private, but feel free to volunteer in this thread.
