LRF| - Faction Feedback Thread - Leeds Resistance Forces - 07-15-2019 >>> LRF| FACTION FEEDBACK<<< ~ Posts regarding Faction feedback and/or suggestions and criticism can be done here. RE: LRF| - Faction Feedback Thread - Altejago - 07-15-2019 Hi, this is purely personal and simply a request; But can you please remove the Special Air Service emblem. I grew up with a father in the service and its culture is ingrained and I find it a tad insulting to what they stand for. But with all 'due respect', I find it hard to believe the SAS would be offended by use of the symbol in fiction to represent a military force started by a former intel operative to defend what are essentially descendents of British Commonwealth citizens from a tyrannical occupation in the distant future. What do they stand for then? I don't get why my use of it would be offensive, but either way, I'll move to something original. Since bottom line is we're privateers, I'll change it to a skull and bones. In either case, if anyone else has been offended by this I'd like to know. Thanks. RE: LRF| - Faction Feedback Thread - Altejago - 07-15-2019 Because the SAS and its morals are not made up or fictional. Good men died with out public knowledge to uphold what you hold dear. It's a matter of respect for them for the things they do to keep our way of lives safe and free from the darks of war. Mimicking them, to me and my beliefs, belittles what they mean to me and my family. Like I said, you don't have to do it but I urge you to consider what it is you're painting yourself to be. But general military livery is public knowledge, and not shrouded in secrecy. So if a soldier dies, we all know about it then and there, not in 50 years when the secrecy act runs out. Well it's already done, and sorry you felt you had (I assume) the need to get this off your chest. But your argument makes no sense to me. I have had family die in wars too. To say that mimicking Special Forces in this case is an insult to them still makes no sense to me, it was meant to be more 'tributary'. As far as I'm concerned, my morals in this case are the same as what the SAS's would be if it were the real Leeds under occupation from a French monarchy on the mainland. I have yeilded but this seems like posturing to me. I don't buy the argument. But in truth I don't have official permission to use it so I've removed it. Just for the record, that emblem is not classified and is pubilcally known. I would like to paint us to be hardcore fighters like the SAS and when/if we ever did, operate like a special forces team. It was founded by an SIS agent, so it didn't seem like that long of a stretch. Again, apologies to anyone offended by using it. |
