ENBSeries Mod - SilentAssassin82 - 03-07-2009

[color=#FF0000]THIS ADDITION IS OPTIONAL VIA FLMM ACTIVATION -DL

If for any reason you are unsure about using the ENBseries mod. Or that you are unsure how to use it. Or even that you dont think FreeLancer needs any improvment with bloom effects. Then please DO NOT activate this mod.

If you are in anyway unsure your computer can handle more load wile playing FreeLancer. Then please DO NOT activate ENBseries mod.

SHIFT+F12:
To deactivate the Bloom Effects wile ingame. This is usfull if you are in a fight and you wish for less strain on your graphics to improve performance.

enbseries.ini:
This is were the settings for the Bloom Effects are stored. Dont mess around with them if you dont know what you are doing. Reflection should be left off.

The bloom effects are controlled by the d3d8.dll located in the EXE folder in your FreeLancer directory. All the settings are controlled by the enbseries.ini.

If for any reason you wish to deactivate the Discovery mod and the Bloom effects still remain after deactivation. Just brows to your FreeLancer\EXE folder and delete the d3d8.dll

The effects will activate and deactivate through FLMM appon applying the mod. However if you use restore backups when deactivating Discovery you will have to delete the d3d8.dll manually if you wish to remove the ENB series mod.

Deactivating the mod through the "Deactivate Mod" tab will remove all the files automatically.

INFORMATION:

If you are using onboard Graphics such as an onboard Intel chipset. Do not activate the ENBSeries mod.

If for any reason you wish to remove the mod without deactivating Discovery, just delete the d3d8.dll from the freelancer/EXE folder.

FreeLancer first Intro screen may flash when Freelancer starts. THIS IS NORMAL. When ENBSeries is active.

[color=#FF0000]If Game wont start delete Bloom.dll + d3d8.dll + enbseries.ini -SA

ENBSeries Mod - Heartless - 03-07-2009

I'm not sure I understand, and this might be the reason my fl was having problems a few weeks back.

There will be 2 downloadable mods, one with this bloom effect thing and one without?

Or if we just download whatever's given to us we'll be fine?

I'm sorry, just a bit confused :/

ENBSeries Mod - Jinx - 03-07-2009

if things are like they have been in the internal betas....

the mod will install itself ( default ) WITH the files - but NOT activated. - you ll have to manually activate them ( in the freelancer mod manager menu , there is a subsection for the ENBseries )

if you don t alter anything, freelancer will install default without activated ENBseries.

the following is an example of how it might affect you:

- duron 1200
- Gforce 5500 FX 2.0 shaders
- 1 GB ddr ram

resolution 1280x1024x32

frames per second went from 46 to 7 with bloom activated

so - for a computer comparable to the one listed, activating the ENBseries is not really recommended, but every computer is different, - might as well get better results.

the ENBseries are post render effects. - that means, the whole screen is rendered in FL, and then rendered again using dx9 effects... which can put some stress on the CPU / graphic - i guess. an "up-to-date" computer should be fine though

ENBSeries Mod - SilentAssassin82 - 03-07-2009

No theres an option in FLMM to activate the ENBseries effects or not. Just like the options for spinning planets and view distance. And yes like Jinx said, its off by default.

ENBSeries Mod - Doom - 03-07-2009

no...effect can be activated upon activation of the mod it self trough the FLMM. Once activated u can deactivate it in game using key combination Shift+F12 in case u don't like it.

If it causes any problems deactivating mod and activating it again without Bloom will usually fix any issues.

ENBSeries Mod - CCI45-px/Probe149 - 03-07-2009

Could you perhaps give an example (screenie) with and without this thingy? I don't clearly understand what it is doing (might be because it's late).

ENBSeries Mod - jammi - 03-07-2009

Are there still OpenSP options for .85? If so can this tool be used on there? And would any lag be network lag or graphical lag?

ENBSeries Mod - Igiss - 03-07-2009

FLMM fails to remove previously added .dll files, so you will have to remove d3d8.dll from your Freelancer\EXE folder manually to remove the bloom.

Generally, don't enable ENB unless you are sure that you need it. On integrated graphic adapters, don't even bother. Also, it doesn't actually make the game look more detailed or anything... some people will surely like it, but some won't.

(offtopic, but still)

OpenSP option was removed. Reason: campaign SP was removed, so OpenSP is on by default without any options.

ENBSeries Mod - Jinx - 03-07-2009

here is a screen of what it does ( different game though, sorry )

no bloom

bloom

the bloom effect "can" make objects appear more realisticly, but sometimes overbright. - what it does is... making bright surfaces brighter, dark surfaces darker. - you get more contrast, sharper structures - but it doesn t look "good" everywhere ( like when you re looking into a sun and all you see is whiteness )

ENBSeries Mod - CCI45-px/Probe149 - 03-07-2009

<strike>So it basically makes lights shine brighter, correct?</strike>

Nevermind, you just edited it in.

Thanks for answer.
