Background

The origins of the Gaian movement are unclear, what is known is one of the earliest recorded attacks on Planetform’s operations occurred sometime in 750 AS. Over the past 75 years many cells rose and fell within the group. Despite many differing views by many of the sects, one common theme often reigned supreme science and logic before wanton acts of destruction and violence. Unfortunately, as is often the case with social movements a minority of its followers had violent tendencies. Kept at bay by the more intellectual leadership, generally it only takes a small nudge to push once peaceful protesters into a bloodthirsty mob. That nudge came in the form of two planetary catastrophes in 826 AS. First, the Gallic invasion fleet with the help of EFL Oil and Machinery had begun the colonization and exploitation of the once pristine paradise that was Planet Gaia, now rechristened “Planet Gaia”. The Second nudge, and the final straw, the glassing of Planet Leeds, the exact thing The Gaian Movement had feared, Humanity had destroyed an entire planet.

Something changed….

The formerly relatively peaceful Gaians were thrown into turmoil. Many in fits of dismay took their own lives, while others turned to the radical leaders. Those who had been calling for far more violence and far less words.

Devin Blackwood, a 22 Year old University of Cambridge student, expelled after he attempted to burn down the SynthFoods™ SynthPaste Biodome complex near the University. After a stint in Newgate for attempted arson again on another set of SynthFoods Biodomes he left the bustling cities to join the Gaian movement in Edinburgh. While with the Gaians his hatred of SynthFoods and Orbital Spa and Cruise only grew. His wish to destroy everything even remotely connected to them, to any industry only smothered by the constant reassurance that the movement was gaining legitimacy within the government.

This all changed in 826 AS with the planetary annihilation of Planet Leeds and the Gallic Colonization of Planet Gaia the ranks of the Gaians were flipped on their head. Devin saw his chance. Gathering what loyal followers he had collected over the last 4 years on Islay he took command. Calling on the Gaians in their time of dismay to give up on the peaceful protests, the time for peace was over, it was time to burn.

The Nemesis is a small band of extremely dangerous Gaians with little care for the cost of damage dealt to property or life. They only wish to bring the pain of Leeds and Gaia to all who oppose them.

Short Term Goals

To make life on Planet Gaia as unpleasant as possible using Guerrilla warfare and terrorist attacks on Military and Civilian targets.

Cleanse Gaia of her parasite

Encourage Humanity to live amongst the Stars and take only from nature what they need to survive.

Ship Used

Gaian Snub Craft: Unlimited

Gaian Gunboat: Unlimited

Gaian Cruiser: Limited

Relations

At War

Bretonia Law Enforcement:
The inept so called protectors of Bretonia, liars and slackers. Eliminate them at any oppurtunity.

Gallic Royal Enclave:
The Parasite, The Scourge, the ones who extinguished Leeds and are ravaging Gaia. Leave not one crewmember breathing. Show them the pain they caused to Leeds and Gaia.

PlanetForm:
One of the Longest running enemies of the Gaians, we may be different then those who came before but we haven't forgotten our roots.

Orbital Spa & Cruise:
See Planetform.

The Corsairs:
Our Traitorous Allies, they sided with the Gallic Scourge even when they crushed us under their boot heel and perverted the planets and space they touch. Make it clear they are no longer welcome in Bretonia.

>>> The Corsair Brotherhood:
While once we had considered a possibility of working with the Corsair Brotherhood after an internal debate it was determined that they, like all Cretans, are guilty of aiding and abetting the Gallic Enclave in its war against Bretonia and its subsequent desecration of both Leeds and Planet Gaia.

Very Unfriendly

The Mollys:
Drunks, pirates and rebels without a cause. They cause madness and mayhem only for their own gain. They care not for the natural resources they steal and only seek to profit off them. Maybe once we could have been friends.

Neutral Unfriendly:

The Outcasts:
The people of Malta descended from the lost sleeper ships Hispania, while we may not approve of the export of their drug Cardamine and would rather see it kept on its home world we cannot deny that it's use has spread through the society of Bretonia. Perhaps there is some safe medicinal use for it, that remains to be seen. While some in their hierarchy seem interested in strengthening ties do not expect all aspects of Outcast Society to follow suit right away. Their true motives remain to be seen.

The Coalition:
Often seen cooperating with the Mollys, they have the potential to be better friends if only they stopped believing the processed lies being fed to them by the drunks in Dublin.

The Red Hessians:
The Mollys of Rheinland with a blood thirsty lust for expansion. They claim to be fighting for a revolution in Rheinland. Why does that bring them to Cambridge? We don’t know, show them the way out either in an escape pod or through the nearest jumphole.

Crayter Republic:
Our first encounter proved they are just as complacent as the rest of Sirius. They seem disinterested in our movements want to move the stagnant masses. No evidence has yet come to light that they exploit nature not as needed but for nothing more then ruthless profits. Make it clear they are not welcome in our space.

All Unlisted Corporations

Neutral:

Hispania Imperial:
The first group of Maltese to reach out to us after our public denouncement of the Corsair Empire and the subsequent execution of Corsair POWs.

Zoners:
One of the few groups we have almost no issues with, they space faring ways and willingness to live in space stations rather than corrupting planets sets them apart from most other organizations.

Junkers:
The source of many of our supplies, a necessary evil, while filthy they make it a point to clean up the industrial refuse the houses leave behind. That being one of their only redeeming factors.

NO-Natio Octavarium:
A Nation amongst the stars, they take from their local planets only what they need and sell what they do not use. They have potential to be good friends of ours.

All Other Unlisted Organizations

Friendly:
None Yet

Allies:
UN| Unioners
The other organization to allow the LWB remnants in, we have many similar beliefs and have interest in cooperating in tactical strikes against Orbital Spa & Cruise, Synth Foods, Planetform.

Actually, I had an idea just like this in case GG disbanded.

A contingency plan of sorts. I even have the draft saved here on the forum.

Cool to see a Gaian group which is not a BAF subfaction.

By the way, it seems like Planetform is listed under "All Unlisted Corporations", that might be an oversight?

Anyways, looking forwards to seeing you guys in space, good luck!

Nice catch, fixed.

Interesting. I've floated some diplomatic ideas in Natio Octavarium command chat, we have some strategic overlap - and I don't just mean about the Enclave.

Depending on the opinions of the rest of HC, we may be in touch. I'm interested ot see where this faction goes regardless, my Gaian interactions have historically been some of my most interesting.

RE: [N]- The Nemesis Faction Info & Feedback - Querious - 10-02-2019

Seems like a Gaian faction more true to its original purpose. Despite the lack of immediate allies, [N] has the tech available to really become a true terrorist faction in Bretonia and the Barrier. Unlike the Gaians of old, [N] also has easily verifiable evidence that humanity has and will continue to kill entire worlds if left unchecked.

One piece of advice I would give is to create your own supply network, if you cannot have your allies do this for you. For your primary bases, I would suggest not only using Islay, but also spreading to bases like Sandur, Holmfirth, Handayan, Greifswald, Torshavn, and Skye.

As far as your reputation goes, I would suggest adding the Crayter Republic, HF Legion, the Bretonian Privateers, Synth Foods, OSC, and corporations assisting your enemies as hostile, as they are using terraforming machines on local planets, and corrupting those that do not require terraforming.

The main targets of your movement, from my perspective, should be Planet Harris, Planet Bordeaux, Planet Anaheim, Planet Sprague, Planet Guadalajara, Planet Yuma, Pecos, Riverside Station, Canterbury Station, and any Enclave bases that you could reasonably damage or destroy. Firing for the Drydock in Aquitaine isn't going to get you anywhere, but going after the RNS-Carcassonne, a ship already dwindling on supplies, will more likely end up with clear long-term victories.

One last note: I'm pretty sure you can fire on GG if they side with BAF against you. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Certainly the way we are going but not yet, As of right now Blackwood is at least mostly in charge of Islay (how I am rolling it at least) in the next few days I will likely release some news bits about how word of the new radical Gaians is spreading across the other bases and support is growing. I really don't like the idea of a group showing up out of no where and immediately having influence on all stations you know? Especially given Gaians constant cells and splinter groups.

Would be nice to have an ally, didn't want to jump the gun on allies but NO- seemed like a possible option.

RE: [N]- The Nemesis Faction Info & Feedback - Reeves - 10-02-2019

It's nice to see an actual and genuine Gaian faction that isn't just unlawful BAF, or worse - discord diplomacy and friends. I wish you guys the best and hope we run into each other at some point, even though we are kind of on different ends of the fence.
