I have A Problem - Koolmo - 10-05-2006

Ok, so i want to install the new beta and while the new one was downloading, i deactivated the older mod, and when i went to activate the new mod, it says "FLMM has determined that 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\freelancer.ini' doesn't exist" Because the file isn't here, i cant install the mod. Where would this file go, how do i get it back, and do i have to reinstall? Any help is much appreciated

You have to reinstall to get it fixed. Happened to me once.

Actually, i have a solution. I copied the modified file from the new mod, and put it into the FL folder. When i applied the mod, the manager everwrote it, and now it's working fine.

Inventive. Grats on getting it fixed. :D

yea, i really didn't expect it to work, but i guees the mod manager just needed a file of the appropriate type, not the right file.

You'll have trouble with those files if you'll try to activate other mods, and probably with newer versions of Discovery too.

Reinstalling FL is still better. Theoretically.

A complete reinstall definitely gets rid of all files.

In order for it to not happen again, though, you should make sure all other mods are deactivated (including previous versions of Discovery) *before* downloading the new one. I'm not sure why, but that is why it happens with me.
