Planet Gran Canaria, Omega 49 system

Currently overseeing evacuation of all free people who refuse to submit to the unwarranted aggression of Bretonian occupational forces.

Ships Log: December 26th, 826 A.S.

We will be FREE. It was a good home, beautiful beyond measure, and to leave it after so many years makes me sick at heart. I had originally thought to resist with some of the others but i'm so weary of fighting. Now that the Gallic's are defeated, the Bretonians will doubtless sink their claws in so deeply they will never be dislodged. It's inevitable that they will claim all that they have conquered. I sympathize with their desperation but I fear they learned all the wrong lessons from their enemy. Only time will tell if they can reclaim their souls.

It's time to move on. To stay would be to become slaves to corporate interests and a bureaucracy so convoluted even the officers sworn to uphold laws could not memorize them all. Many who remain feel as I do. I have a stout ship and a good crew and we have room for over one thousand who are brave enough to venture into an unknown future. This vessel can sustain us for many years while we search for a new place to call home. Our provisions are laid down and we stand ready to depart. All that remains is to gather as many of our people as we can.

Once it is done, I will stroll the surface of this planet for the final time. I can only hope the Bretonians won't turn the place into a garbage pile, as they have to so many of their other worlds.

Dublin System Sector D4

Awaiting navigational reports from advance scout craft to determine our next course

Ships Log: December 29th, 826 A.S.

Our journey has now begun. It took a few days longer than expected to gather enough people willing to accompany us when even we don't know where we will end up, but the delay turned out to be a fortunate one. A man by the name of Russell Taylor contacted me from Lanzarote Station and was bold enough to offer his services along with his ship, a Corvo class explorer outfitted with advanced scanning equipment. Through a clever feat of engineering of his own design, we are able to moor the vessel securely along our ventral hull even with our cruise engines engaged. This will allow us the capability of light transportation should the need arise to procure any resources or products that we cannot easily manufacture ourselves, and from parties who may not wish for a vessel as large as ours to enter into their territory.

As we finalized our departure vector our proximity scanners blared out multiple alerts. A rather large Bretonian military fleet had been detected entering the system. I initially assumed the worst, that they had come to challenge the presence of our ship in what they claim is their system but this was not the case. As I looked at the scanner telemetry, I soon realized an even larger fleet of Coalition vessels was bearing down on the Bretonians, intent on doing battle with them. I decided the most prudent course was to remain in close orbit of the planet so as not to be drawn into the battle. And on a personal level, I had to admit quietly to myself, I was hoping to see the Bretonians get their pompous tails trashed, a symbolic revenge of sorts I suppose. I was not disappointed as I and my bridge crew were treated to a stunningly decisive Bretonian defeat. Serves them right. They stole our home and now it looks like it will in turn be stolen from them. Our scanners recorded the destruction of five Bretonian capitol ships and at that point I realized we had only a few minutes left to escape before the Coalition potentially turned on us when they ran out of targets. We proceeded at top speed towards the Dublin jumphole without being challenged.

Once in Dublin, I decided to visit the IMG Hood and mingle with the miners there while Mr. Taylor takes his ship ahead and secures a safe route into the Tau systems. I am uploading our logs of the Bretonian defeat for quick reference should I have a need for a soothing balm in the future while remembering being driven from my home.

Somewhere in the Taus...

Awaiting reply from Freeport 10

Ships Log: January 5th, 827 A.S.

Nothing lasts forever it seems. We only fled our home a week ago and already there is dissension among us on where we should go next and what we should do. Some of the refugees want to try and establish a base as a new home while others wish to make planet fall somewhere on an unestablished world. Yet others simply want to disembark on the nearest Zoner Station and go their merry ways. Ultimately, this ship is mine and I'll go where I want, but we are all free people and I won't hold anyone here if they aren't all in. I guess I can't blame anyone for a lack of spirit after what we've all been through.

Fortunately, Mr. Taylor is the adventuring sort and is still willing to follow the solar wind to wherever it blows us. Good man. He returned yesterday from his forward jaunt with two options out of Dublin, through Leeds or Aquitaine. As loath as I was to see another Bretonian battleship again, Taylor and I both agreed that cutting a deal with the Enclave for passage was just too risky a trick. Potentially making an enemy of quite literally everyone else just isn't an option. So we pressed forward away from Dublin through the Leeds jumphole. At least there weren't any infernal asteroid fields to navigate there. This ship may be a a beautiful tough old cow but it dwarfs the capitol vessels of all the other houses.

We traversed the Leeds system without incident, though staring at the smoldering ruins of the Planet as we flew by was quite a somber sight. I have no love at all for the Bretonians, but what happened to Leeds was a crying ass shame. We at least were permitted to flee with our ships and our lives. I broke from my rumination as the helm reported we were approaching the jump gate to the Tau systems. Which of course, is where our current predicament began. Once we were completely free from the Bretonians zone of influence, the arguments about our goals began to break out. We Zoners are a fiercely independent lot and once we put our minds to an idea, it's difficult to dissuade us from it. In the end, I decided to send a message to Freeport 10 inquiring as to whether they have the capability to accommodate some of the passengers who wish to leave. I'd hate to show up unannounced with such a large ship and dump several hundred people in their laps if they aren't ready for them.

I hope it goes well. I could use some good news.

Corfu Base, Omicron Theta

Supervising shuttle transfer of civilians to Planet Pygar.
Awaiting reply from Genesis Research Group

Ships Log: January 12th, 827 A.S.

It's been a long week. It took 2 days to receive a reply from Freeport 10 and their response was disappointing, although not altogether unexpected. We have too many people for them to house and their station does not posses the facilities to dock this vessel. The station commander did however point us in the direction of the Omicron systems where many of our people are apparently gathering.

This was a rather ironic turn of events, as the journey to Omicron Theta necessitated us to pass through our home system which we so recently fled from. I was both elated and saddened to look upon my lost home again, knowing I will almost certainly never return. Interestingly, as we passed by Lanzarote Station, we picked up a system wide transmission originating from Gran Canarias surface. (sigh) It almost makes me wish I had stayed behind to fight the Bretonians. I overheard quite a few of the crew grumbling the same tune. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them end up doing just that after we get to Pygar.

It took a whole week to cross the entire sector, but eventually we found ourselves moored a Corfu Base. Unfortunately, Pygar has not operational docking facility so those who wish to settle here will be forced to take shuttles in smaller groups. It will likely take several days until I am satisfied that they are taken care of as best as I can hope for. As I looked over the shuttles flight schedules, I wondered as to what comes next. A ship this large seems too expensive to maintain with only a few hundred left on board. Fate is a fickle mistress it seems as we were approached by another Zoner ship and we struck up a conversation.

I have to admit, the offer was intriguing enough to spark my interest. This may be just the diversion I need to take my mind from my sorrows.
