Corsairs - Guard assets? - Alestone - 12-30-2019

This is not an opinion poll!

Should there still be Corsair Guard assets in the game?

RE: Corsairs - Guard assets? - Lucas - 12-30-2019

no.

RE: Corsairs - Guard assets? - Typrop - 12-30-2019

According to FLStat,

Rhodes Shipyard and Ciutadella Outpost

are both still Guard.

RE: Corsairs - Guard assets? - Lucas - 12-30-2019

Those should be changed then.

"I'm not asking for your opinion, but what is your opinion on X?"

It may not be a poll, but what you're looking for is definitely subjective.

No, but not only Corsairs. We must move over and finally get rid of all guard iff remnants in the game.

Actually, I was asking for the official position, as in, is Corsair Guard meant to have been removed from the game?

RE: Corsairs - Guard assets? - Alestone - 01-01-2020

I left this sit for most of a day and a half in the hopes that I wouldn't feel compelled to write it.

This thread is an example in microcosm of why there is dissatisfaction with the current administration.

A question was asked; I will even admit that it less than optimally worded.

The "official" response was to take the OP in the worst possible context, ignore the request for clarification and make a belittling retort to that perception.

When that retort was debunked, it was also ignored.

At this point, I will point out a fact of the forum. If you look at a user profile, it tells you the amount of time since the person was last online. I mention that fact because I looked at the profile 4 times and found that, each time, that person had been online within half an hour of me looking.

Now, I know that some people on the server are of the opinion that the "volunteers" don't owe us anything. First, we all owe each other a modicum of courtesy, whether it is actually paid. That said, I question whether you can call yourself volunteers when you accept money, even if it is only for the upkeep of the server, but, regardless, the point is why this type of activity generates negative feeling.

Admission that you were in the wrong costs nothing and generates good will. Blowing someone off after you have been offensive merely continues a set of bad choices.

Additionally, I went back and looked at the thread provided by SnakThree (for which, thank you), and found no "official" contribution; you'll notice, I also am not part of that discussion. I assume that you thought I was baiting, which, if so, also presumes the worst of motives on my part. If not, please accept my apologies for arrogance on my part.

As a closing thought, here is a bit of advice from someone in the field: https://blog.codinghorror.com/the-ten-commandments-of-egoless-programming/
