Merge Synth Foods and Cryer - Markam - 01-08-2020
From a random comment on the Official Discord.
Two super niche factions that combined may have a chance at attracting players.
Merged faction would, as per usual corporate mergers, probably end up being called something like CS Holdings, or CS Industries or some some equivalent.
Interesting idea, not sure myself.

Merging NPC factions is almost like deleting them except a portion of the factions are still around. unlike LWB.

It would certainly detract from their history, but considering how those factions are always abandoned and have no real involvement with bigger picture (like Ageira/DSE/Universal, Planetform and other construction-type corps have).
It would be tough call. Either we have them as separate, always dead and forgotten vanilla assets. Or we merge them with hopes it could attract player group to make use of this new merged corporation.

There's nothing wrong with having small factions that are NPC only because they're too small to attract people to their flag. They can help the universe feel deeper.

Given the conflict driven mindset of this 'verse, I don't think that this would change anything.
I agree that these assets add color, but that is really all they were originally designed for.

If those can't attract playerbase now, doubt it will attract it when merged since new ID is unlikely to offer anything new gameplay-wise. Corporations would be better off finding more rivals inRP, becoming hostile to other corps. As of now, corp RP is limited in what you can do in game.
Disco is a weird place. On the one hand people argue that some RP factions do not play their vanilla lore well by doing unorthodox politics or whatnot, on the other hand people just suggest merge NPC factions to basically wipe out their lore. Neat
