The Company - Mastermind - 03-11-2009 Quote:First Freelancer Faction! // Yes, I'm going to try and make a Freelancer faction. I have played on Discovery for month's now (I got another forum account but don't want to get exposed) and I would think it would be cool to work this thing out. But therefore I'm going to need feedback and support from all of you. So heres the press conference. Quote:The Company Press Conference // Now I've basically described everything I've worked out on The Company in that conference. Questions may be asked in the forum, feedback may be given here. I thank you in advance for any help your going to give. The Company - Drake - 03-11-2009 Speaking as John Valentine, Freelancer Extraordinaire, I like it. As long as you generally keep your noses out of things and don't try to become some sort of Sirius-wide police/peacekeeping force/Good Guys Inc., I think it could be pretty interesting. That said, I don't think you should immediately persue official status. Unless you want to buy a home system someday, this faction seems like it would work best with the looser rules and regulations of an unofficial faction. Basing yourselves off of the Barrier Gate would be the obvious choice, and of course there are Freeports in other areas of Sirius. I'm sure the Zoners wouldn't mind if you didn't cause trouble for them. The Company - Mastermind - 03-11-2009 Glad to see such a quick reply Drake. I wasn't planning on making us Sirius wide blabla. I've never liked that, it splits a faction to thin. Space exploration will mostly be in the nomad/edge worlds probably for research. I'm not hitting for official status either. I've seen a unofficial list here to, I'm trying to get on there. And this topic is to get some attention, feedback, assistance and whatnot. The Company - cer1al_k1ller - 03-11-2009 I think this could be a good idea but i have some sugestions... I dont think this faction should act like all the others. You should'nt have any power over the freelancer in general, just the one you contracted to do the service for your client. Freelancer would work in a subcontract for you. That way, any freelancer would have better chances of finding a job. Example: Trader X gives you 2 mil to get a freelancer escort for him. You contact someone on your list (online at that moment), offer him the job and you offer him a part of that money. You would be the middleman. I dont think that name changes([company] suit.x) should be done. Freelancer should keep their name. Thats my opinion (i have a freelancer char) The Company - Mastermind - 03-11-2009 The Company should not really be called a faction, thats why I used ''organization'' some times as well. I like your input. The Company will exist of united freelancers, we will be in escorts for hire to, The Company is a organization that gets Freelancers to work. The name was an idea of mine to improve the role play. Freelancers can make very dangerous enemy's and having your name all over it isn't just an good idea. At least the tag [Company] stays, and I'll wait for more opinions on the ''suit.X'' names. Also, having the Suit.x name doesn't means your Freelancers is a mr.no name, each Company member can make their own background part. And in there they will have a name, and they may use it in game towards people they can trust. Thanks for your opinion cer1al_k1ller. The problem with the name change, is if i use [company] in my name, im no longer free! Ill be connected the the company and thats something most freelancers wont do it (includind me). Members of "The Company" should still work on their own but, when you have some job, you give it to some freelancer in your ranks. After job is done, he is on his one again till next job. Why would freelancers join "The company" if they can find jobs on their own? Only because you will have more visibility and publicity than the freelancers on their own. You would be the one to make the contracts with the other companys. I guess this way things would work out. A company where Freelancers can register in to get jobs from, but when they don't have any from us they can do whatever they want. Hmm, thats making me think. Alright you got my mind running again, I gotta get something to drink and think this one out. Keep that good thinking up mate. The Company - Mastermind - 03-11-2009 Alright I've been thinking it out for some time. Your idea really helped a lot cer1al_k1ller! Much appreciated. Heres the updated version. Description The Company is a Freelancer organization that gathers and provides jobs for Freelancers that have signed up. For Freelancers that signed up, there are no rules and regulations. There is no tag required as these Freelancers aren't a part of The Company. These Freelancers will receive jobs that The Company have gathered from their contacts. The Company will keep a small amount of the missions money as their own cut. There is only one requirement to sign up, you need to be a Freelancer (ID, IFF is not required) Employers of The Company do have rules and regulations, and a tag is required ([Company]) These employers of The Company will be busy on looking for jobs, as well as supporting Company's contacts, fighting Company's enemy's, space exploration and trade. The Company's zone of influence is known to be all over Sirius, however The Company will have a Zone of Focus with wouldn't be that large. The Zone of Focus will be specific sectors that need Company's attention the most. Once again, all sign ups to become a registered Freelancer or a Company Employer are closed until future notice. // Please keep giving feedback if you have any. I'll be working hard to get everything done so we can get started here. The Company - cer1al_k1ller - 03-11-2009 If this goes ahead, my freelancer will want to be part of it! The Company - cer1al_k1ller - 03-11-2009 ' Wrote:There is only one requirement to sign up, you need to be a Freelancer (ID, IFF is not required)I guess freelance Id and Iff should be required because its the best way to control the reps. Tagged freelancer probably will be neutral to almost all factions. This way its easier to assign someone a job. Example: Gateway asks for escorts. If the player doesnt have tag, you dont know if he is friendly or neutral to gateway. If he is freelancer tagged, it should be at least neutral (dont work for every case but its safer then if you accepted everyone - someone correct me if im wrong!). |
