Poll:Reprecussions - Langolier 2.0 - 06-01-2020 The most recent POB drama has shed light on a scope of the game I believe has been missing all along. In several of the responses on the current thread, comparisons have been made over the investment of a players time/money when they're goal is to either acquire that big, shiny battleship they've been drooling over, or, to build a base. As has been pointed out, the time/money required to build and maintain a POB far surpasses that investment for a cap. It never stops. Yes, I'm one of those silly people that built a base and supply it by myself. The argument that while the player who has a battleship does not have to face any repercussions upon losing the thing that they worked so hard to achieve, the POB owner loses literally everything. And if that base just so happens to sell CODENAMES or cloaks and not to mention sells gold ore, all of the time/money spent obtaining those things are lost as well. Meanwhile, the player who's battleship just got blown to sh*t simply has to click the respawn button, and all is well. There is always talk about how out of whack the economy is and the need for money sinks. You have people out here sitting on double digit amounts of credits, or more, In the billions. o/ A way I see to rectify this is to treat a ship upon being destroyed, ANY SHIP, as lost. Just kitted out you're favorite snub with Codes and a cloak? Thought you could take down that pirate/lawful/antagonist on your HUD? Got Blued? When you hit that respawn button, you're back on the "home" planet of whatever faction you are member of, in a Starflea with an empty cargo hold. Basically, this is just to gauge the communities opinions on the subject. Some of which I believe, will be quite telling. Would it be a game saver, or killer? RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Karst - 06-01-2020 Doesn't even merit a serious response. This obviously isn't happening. RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Groshyr - 06-01-2020 I believe you do not understand that this is a part of gameplay mechanics and cannot be changed. However, if you want to play "reee, losing stuff" game you better to think about EVE Online or similar games. Stop being Blinksi with his walls of text about "How to make Discovery EVE" RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Lemon - 06-01-2020 You do realize that'd make people only gank and take fights with overwhelming strength where they know they will win? That's happening now already and would just Get exponentially worse RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Venkman - 06-01-2020 Can you please stop making these cringe threads please? Thanks. RE: Poll:Reprecussions - bakugone - 06-01-2020 RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Oggdo Bogdo - 06-01-2020 flood ay lmao RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Jeuge - 06-01-2020 T O X I C
RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Couden - 06-01-2020 The loss of PoB is a loss of pixels on your monitor RE: Poll:Reprecussions - Shinju - 06-01-2020 (06-01-2020, 12:00 PM)Langolier 2.0 Wrote: There is always talk about how out of whack the economy is and the need for money sinks. Just don't. |
