"The Witch Hunt" (P3) | 6th June, 18:00 UTC, Tau-44 | Allies victory - Groshyr - 06-02-2020 Combat event (Mixed ships) 6th June, 18:00 UTC, Tau-44 ![]() This unofficial event is not a part of official story development but continues the story of Commandant de Lusignan and RNS Renaissance. You may read more about it by the following link.
Background It was a long way out of Gallia for Commandant de Lusignan, his crew and the ship itself. They managed to escape from the very heart of Ile-de-France to the boundary of Sirius sector and found themselves in the system of Tau-44. After they reached the system, Antonin decided that it was better for Renaissance to hide in the clouds of Sumatra nebula and prepare for further relocation into Roussillon system.
However, the battleship's location was revealed by the Confederal scouts, sent to follow Renaissance. When the information about the spotted Charlemagne-class battleship reached Commandant Vaillant, he on behalf of the Confederal navy high command contacted the Crayterian Navy and Natio Octavarium fleet command and stroke an agreement of cooperation to finally destroy the warship with united forces. They could achieve an easy victory if Lusignan, disturbed by the spotted Confederal scout, would not send a request for reinforcement from the Enclave.

Important note:
The command ships are inRP responsible for ships' coordination. However, they shall not engage in the battle or engage each other (due to the obvious reason of RNS Renaissance's 10% powercore). They may call for group targets to focus (if this is going to be the same combat as part 1) and tell about the status of the friendly or hostile focused ships.
Outcome Enclave victory:
United Confederal, Crayterian and Octavarian forces were unable to destroy the Enclave fleet that was sent to escort the Renaissance into the Roussillon system. Despite that failure, the remaining Allied bombers attempted to sneak through the defence for a desperate torpedo strike on the battleship. However, the surviving ships of the escort fleet managed to destroy the torpedoes before they were close enough to damage the Renaissance. With its escort fleet, the lightly damaged battleship moved to Rodez Outpost for a regular check-up, minor repairs and general resupply. After this, the battleship reinforced the Enclave's fleet, bolstering morale and giving hope for future victories. Allies victory:
Due to the damage suffered in Ile-de-France, one of Renaissance's point defence batteries was offline. However, due to the follow-up attack in Provence, the turret was not repaired in time, leaving the ship vulnerable to torpedoes. The Enclave support fleet sent to provide the warship with a cover was destroyed by united Crayterian, Confederal and Octavarian naval forces. Without escort and with one of the flak turrets offline, the Renaissance was struck by a volley of torpedoes, resulting in several hull breaches along the unguarded side. Several decks were sealed to prevent oxygen's leak. The crew that survived the direct impact but was trapped in the breached rooms and died, falling into the cold Sumatra Cloud. Heavily damaged but still operational, the Renaissance managed to reach the jump hole to Roussillon, escaping from pursuing Allied forces. Though a significant portion of the crew was dead or wounded, the battleship still managed to reach in one piece Rodez outpost, where emergency repairs were started to prepare the ship for the journey to Issodun Shipyard for the full repair.
