Single/multiplayer - kdoolin1 - 06-20-2020 Hi I used to play several years ago and am looking to get back into it. A few questions... 1. Can I play on my own singleplayer at all or do I have to be on a multiplayer/online server? 2. Can I play offline by myself which kind of links with Q1? 3. When I want to play online, are there several servers? 4. Are there any security risks/hackers etc playing this online with others? Thanks RE: Single/multiplayer - L e o n - 06-20-2020 Greetings! I'm not an expert but I'll try to provide some answers to your questions. 1. You can play singleplayer if you open the discovery launcher and instead clicking multiplayer you can click new game and It will automatically will start a new game in planet Manhattan you can use commands such as Cash ??? and Show 1 BUT there is no story mod. 3. No, There is only one server. 4. There is always hackers but mostly of them getting banned right away before they attempt to do anything. I never encountered a hacker in game so far. Hope it helped you buddy. If you need anything you can talk to me in discord TheFireLeon#0420 RE: Single/multiplayer - darkwind - 06-20-2020 (06-20-2020, 09:26 AM)kdoolin1 Wrote: 1. The only alternative is raising local server, where saves are normally working, plus FLhook is working there, giving more close experience to multiplayer. (06-20-2020, 09:26 AM)kdoolin1 Wrote: 2. Can I play offline by myself which kind of links with Q1?Yes you can in local server. Disable IpV6 in your isn't settings and launch flserver.exe in game folder to get started your own server. Connect to it as to online server. It gets more or less good choice to play on your own or with friends. It is possible to designate there yourself as game master btw. To have better control. To work with it as a playground for testing too. (06-20-2020, 09:26 AM)kdoolin1 Wrote: 3. When I want to play online, are there several servers?Discovery Freelancer has only one server, I heard there are others, but I doubt they are that popular and high online as Discovery. Hackers... of course they are there Most of them get banned, some of them probably don't. Anyway, their effort would be targeting only the server. You would be surely safe from them.
RE: Single/multiplayer - wodalin - 06-20-2020 Important is also that you need to copy your singleplayer save files to somewhere else, since the laucher deletes them at startup because there are issues with multiplayer mode. |
