Fleet Logistical Support Vessel - MacAulay - 03-23-2009
Ok heres another one to throw out there. The Logistical Support Vessel (LSV).
What this ship essentially is is a giant moving munnitons dump for supporting offensive fleet operations in hostile territory. The vessel would have the following features:
Increased shield and armour: For survivability in hostile space
Decreased weapon/turret damage: This is an Auxilliary vessel, not a combat ship.
The ability to carry large amounts of shieldbots,nanobots and CM's: To resupply friendly combat vessels.
The ability to carry various munition types such as mines and missiles without the ability to actually use them: Again, to resupply friendly combat ships.
A possible 'repair laser': Asmentioned in This post
No modern fleet would conduct operations without such a vessel on hand. It would add something to fleet combat by allowing protracted engagements and also the necessity to 'protect your baggage' as it were. It is in my opinion an essential part of the makeup of any fleet.

May I point you in the direction of the Repair Ship?
The only think it can't do is the ammo. other then that it has a very signifigant bot/bat supply. Now about that Repair Laser....

I dont think the repair ship is quite up to the task of keeping a full fleet supplied. I am aware of its existence and its lack of usability as a useful vessel.

The repair ship can carry ammo... even if it is greyed out on a base, you can still buy it. So just do that.
