Honshu system feedback - looqas - 03-24-2009 Could the TL be moved a bit farther away from the planet? You can easily crash the planet when coming from Okinawa Gate. It's quite easy if you exit the lane and have Free Flight on and the mouse pointing right. And you can't cruise to the lane because of the proximity of the planet. I already said I can't move the TL/JG in Honshu because of location problems. The only other place for me to put it would have the JG off the map. Code issues factor in on this and make it a bit difficult. Also, moving the JG to Sigma never was, nor never will be an option Kambei, and you know this because you were one of the people involved in that other thread. There will be one between Sigma-19 and Okinawa in 4.86, but as you already know, I'm not allowed to make it for 4.85. Igiss' decision, and thats what he said. Honshu system feedback - Dab - 03-25-2009 Move the planet and we'd have to edit at least one of the tradelanes. No matter which direction or how far, moving the planet will cause problems. This is being made into a bigger problem than it is anyway.. If you've got mouse flight on and you're leaving the TL, turning right would be classified as 'user error,' and not the TL's fault if your planetdive.. If you aren't in mouse flight, you will not hit the planet. You'll get very close, but you should get close enough to get hurt. Can we remove the closest TL ring? It would be rather neat way to handle this. This issue is not critical or fatal, but to me it seems odd in design point of view since there are not other TL rings this close to the planet that you can't cruise into in from normal angles. Honshu system feedback - Dab - 03-25-2009 Considering its a new TL going to a new JG that goes to Okinawa, this has to do with Okinawa. I could remove the last ring, but then it'd be a bit odd from a design view, being 5km away from the planet. It'd also effect trade routes, requiring a rebalance of the trade routes going to and from Okinawa. When I get my computer back (its out being fixed right now), I'll take another look at it. If I can fly a BS through the TLs without hitting the planet, I don't think I'll change it. If it can hurt a BS or any other ship, then I'll take out the last ring. |
