Sigma Showdown - Unseelie - 09-23-2020

Sigma Showdown
Sigma 17
Hybrid Event

OVERVIEW

Sitting in the distant system of Sigma-17, shrouded by the Kunashir Cloud, the valuable Planet Kurile continues to produce the fabled food-culture organisms. Three years ago, the Gas Miner's Guild wrested control of the planet from Samura, and in doing so have committed themselves to the world; A mistake they are soon to realize. The Corsairs have held an interest in the organisms found on the planet, the resources found there could greatly counteract the enduring hunger shared by their people. High Elder Montoya has decreed that the Barcelona moves on Kurile. The raiders are to be finally let loose on the blue pearl. The Elders command it.

On the other side of Sirius, the Outcasts grow ever increasingly frustrated. Reports have started coming in that Cryer Pharmaceuticals' new product Stabiline, while initially disregarded as fictional propaganda to try and dissuade Cardamine addicts, had actually proven to work to a degree. The very existence of this product is a bane to the Outcasts plan for revenge upon the houses and a great slight to their honor. Determined to cut this problem off at the root, the Outcasts have sent several strike wings to destroy Atka Station in the Sigma-17 system; the base where this dreaded product was first produced.

In an ominous twist of fate, both descendants of House Hispania find themselves in an unexpected reunion, and there can be only one result: bloodshed.

Thresholds
Outcomes will only be considered if there are at least 50 points scored in the event.

Outcomes
Atka Research Station, Battlecruiser Barcelona, Battleship Tercio are at risk of damage or destruction. The two mobile assets are at risk of being forced out of the region.
The scores will be compared to one another. Each team scoring 33% of the score would be perfectly even. If any team falls below the following score ratio, tangible actions to the bases are to follow:

25% or under will accrue damage to base.
20-15% for the Tercio or the Barcelona will force the ships out of Sigma.
15% and under get consideration for further damage or destruction.

Final Scores:

RE: Sigma Showdown - Lythrilux - 09-23-2020

I still don't understand why Cryer and Corsairs have a bonus on each other? Just seems a bit contradictory given their diplomacy (and lore? Though don't quote me as an expert on that).

RE: Sigma Showdown - Spectre - 09-24-2020

The bonus for Corsairs against Cryer is primarily a balance thing. As always, there's nothing forcing any player flying a Corsair ID to go after Cryer ships, but any eccentric Corsair who may wish to can take part in it.

Better to have redundant options than no options at all.

RE: Sigma Showdown - Unity - 09-24-2020

Price too low, can make 1300$ in the same distance elsewhere.

Edit: Corsairs docking on Cryer bases? So cool

RE: Sigma Showdown - Squad - 09-24-2020

Specific commodities purchasable at Atka, Tercio, and Barcelona have been added to sell at Honshu, Malta, and Crete respectively to complete event routes but are not tracked or included in point calculation. Effective on server restart.

RE: Sigma Showdown - Lusitano - 09-24-2020

why Honshu and not Miura, since Miura is the GMG main base?!

Honshu was the original sell point used by Cryer for Stabline after taking Relocation Materials to Atka.

And Outcasts log caps to shoot transports. It really do be like that.

As far as this goes, I've reread rumors for Atka. Corsairs seem to mostly ignore Cryer, more than anything. The positive relations RP surrounding that seems to be more a result of Disco being Disco than like, proper sense. I'm less bothered by it than I was when the event started, having discussed it with a few other people who have been digging into rumors and lore.

Also it means I get to dunk on lolwut gunboats that feel the need to shoot other Cryer with no RP. So that's fine too.
