OVERVIEW
The Story Jam Jam has officially started! Your theme for this event is "Redemption". Interpret this as you will and make the best story you can. This is where you'll post all of your story submissions for the Story Jam. Please use the template provided below. Submissions will be accepted up until 18:00 UTC on Friday the 5th of March. Any submissions made after that will not be counted. Story threads must be made after this post goes live and they must also follow the rules found here. Any non submission posts in this thread will be removed.
Once the submissions come to a close this thread will be turned into a poll so that the community can vote on their top two favourite stories who will receive the rewards for the community vote. You will have 4 days to vote. Winners of the Judges vote will be announced when the community vote comes to a close.

A brief summary about your story:
The final, and admittedly somewhat disjointed thoughts of a man that regrets how his life has turned out and for what he has done in response to all this hardship.
How does your story fit in with the theme?:
The nameless pilot whose POV you are tied to dies wondering if people capable of forgiving would do it for him, and if such people exist at all. Even if the word itself is never used, he wonders if redemption has any place in the world he's seen and the life he made and ruined for himself.

In exile, a man who has been stripped of his pride, his land and his friends, condemned to death for having acted with his heart, remembers the events that have brought him there, already on the brink of death.
How does your story fit in with the theme?:
Immersed in his last thoughts, after remembering all the violence and misfortune that his life and that of his people have gone through and even worse after they have denied him the opportunity to save his friends. This man tries to make peace with himself before he dies. But, apparently life has other plans and once again he will have the opportunity to redeem himself and their beloved ones.

Nick's wife finds out that he was coordinating the slavers all along, despite his best attempts to hide his criminal life from her. Unable to cope with this fact, she kills herself. Motivated by her suicide, Nick decides to intercept his boss's liner and surrender him to police.
