Treaty of Curacao, 830 AS Revision

Preamble

PREAMBLE

Articles of Governance

The systems of Cortez and Magellan hereby receive the official status of 'Joint Protectorate(s)' of the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Republic of Liberty;
The Monarch of Bretonia and the President of Liberty are conferred the title of 'Protector of the Independent Worlds of Magellan and Cortez';
The Kingdom of Bretonia and the Republic of Liberty shall, in council over Curacao, make future revisions to the treaty as the need arises;
The trade lanes are hereby nationalized by the present agreement. The trade lane infrastructure situated in the western regions shall be passed into the ownership of the Kingdom of Bretonia; the trade lane infrastructure situated in the eastern regions shall be passed into the ownership of the Republic of Liberty;
All property rights within Magellan and Cortez are to be strictly protected by this treaty. This includes all ships, stations, planetside facilities, satellites or mining installations under lawful private or corporate ownership; all natural resources within the systems are in the public domain, and shall remain free and open to private or commercial appropriation.

Articles of Rights

Liberty Navy, Bretonian Armed Forces, and Crayter Military (in addition to related police and intelligence agency) vessels and warships, of any class, shall have full access rights to fly through and patrol any portion of space within Magellan and Cortez. Docking rights for Planet Curacao are granted in full;
The Liberty Navy, Bretonian Armed Forces, and Crayter Military (in addition to related police and intelligence agencies) retain the right to pursue outlaws caught in criminal acts within their home space into Magellan and Cortez, there to catch and impose punishment upon them;
The Liberty Navy, Bretonian Armed Forces, and Crayter Military (no additions) retain the full rights to enforce within the systems of Magellan and Cortez all the articles and clauses of this treaty and any subsequent amendments to it.

Information

This document contains the orders, decorations and medals of the Bretonian Empire. Lawful agencies may freely utilize the document to amend the list of receivers of medals as judged fit.

Section I: Military

Victoria Cross (VC)

The Highest award for gallantry. Awarded for most conspicuous bravery, or some daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice, or extreme devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy.

Awarded to Armed Forces personnel for exceptional piloting ability.

Awarded for acts of the greatest heroism or for most conspicuous courage in circumstance of extreme danger.

Awarded to those who chart safe routes through the Omegas, establish bases or operations in the Omegas or otherwise operate for the betterment of Bretonia within the Omegas.

Knight Commander of the Order of the Bretonian Empire (KBE)

Highest National Honour, awarded by the Queen for extraordinary personal service to Bretonia. Confers upon the holder the honorific "Sir" to be recognized by all Bretonian citizens.

National Honour, awarded by the Queen for great personal service to Bretonia. Confers upon the holder the right to include the suffix "OBE" after their name.
