RP Situation relating to Rheinland Liberty conflict - AceofSpades - 04-06-2009 Obviously, news reports, wrecks, and some independent player actions show that there are minor skirmishes if not open combat between Rheinland and Liberty. This fighting is focused in Hudson and Bering, though often extends into Texas/Hamburg. Lets actually lay down some facts/come to a decision here, because while player factions are -to a point- delaying open conflict, there is (in RP) obviously bound to be some fighting. There is a question though I want to have made clear.. Fighting at this point is skirmishes and obviously it seems fitting that at least small groups of fighters/bombers/etc. would be "scouting" or "raiding", however this is what I wanted to bring up... Similarities between Bretonia-Kusari and this conflict in relation to privateers There has been the trade embargo for some time, and both sides have attempted to disrupt trade to the other. Naturally this would mean that the next step would be the actual disruption of trade among the other house. In the spirit of what the BAF did with privateers. ---My personal opinion--- is that fighters/bombers of both sides should be able to attempt to disrupt the other house's trade in the two borderworlds (Texas, Hamburg). Regardless however of my opinion, lets decide here if we are going to allow fighers/bombers tagged Liberty Navy/Rheinland Military to start disrupting traders, similar in aspect (and rules) to what privateers did for Bretonia. RP Situation relating to Rheinland Liberty conflict - darthbeck - 04-06-2009 if they are going to disrupt trade and pirate. then they need pirate ID. keep the tag. but do get pirate ID's RP Situation relating to Rheinland Liberty conflict - Derkylos - 04-06-2009 Very good point, actually, concerning the IDs...while they seem to prohibit this action, the military IDs also seem to prohibit acts of war against other house militaries..."may not participate in illegal actions"...maybe change this to "may only participate in illegal actions against a house with which they are at war"? With this change, we could have RM in Texas pirating Liberty shipping vessels and LN in Hamburg doing the inverse. Assuming one can see a method by which the rading parties can approach said systems (the JGs are actually woefully defended in comparison with the Bret-Kusari gates...understandable, as Bretonia and Kusari are already in open conflict), their presence could definetly make it seem like there is in fact a war on...several times I have passed through the border, and not seen any signs of conflict... RP Situation relating to Rheinland Liberty conflict - casero - 04-06-2009 if I'm not wrong, privateers only pirate traders in Kusari (and taus may be). The Liberty Navy shouldn't pirate traders, it's not what the Navy does. Although, we already stop traders comming and going through Bering/hudson. The ID already say we can stop traders (in our territory) belonging to a house that we are at war (Rheinland), and it's the same for RM ID's (same for KNF and BAF). So, I think we don't need LN and RM pirating in enemy's territory. If the LN and the RM want to do so, they should make a special group as the privateers. |
