"It was clear from the start for Sisu's future that a place outwards the houses should be aquired, a place where the PMC could reestablish themselfes and defend their own interests. For this surveys were conducted in the border worlds with current preference lying southernwards in the Omegas. Problems however were clear from the beginning: Scarcity of habitable worlds, the environmental hazards and the known terrors of the Omega Crossroads - namely Corsairs and Red Hessians. But the Jaegers are aware of that and extra look out for confrontation."

"For this, to aquire an operationable base, granting access to containing said threats in this region. Omega-55 was the next best candiate for this seeing the strategical value of this area and possible ressources to exploit. To secure Rheinlands and Bretonias speditions interests containing unlawful forces in the region the Mikkeli Project was therefore initiated."

Survey of Planet RĂ¼gen - Omega-55-3
[Image: 1mP4xMP.png]
"SNF Tampere guarding the SF Sibelius."

"Planet Rugen was the first primary destination of this survey, the third planet in the outer layers of this binary star system appeared at first glance like a dusty barren world. Upon entering the outer layers of its orbit with first scans conducted, we got quickly proven otherwise.

"The world appears to be a highly arid desert world covered by volatile sandstorms, but with a breathable nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere on this dry rocky world. Scarce vegetation was detected near the polar regions with ice deposits mineable for fresh water at the poles."

"The terrain covered mostly by deserts spanning planetwide contains various canyons and mesas with old automated mining equipment found. Probes found out that this abandoned equipment belonged to the Indpendent Miners Guild originally and these canyons contain several deposits of valuable metals and minerals ready to get exploited - namely Silver and Cobalt, with traces of other minerals. This could prove worthy to reactivate said equipment and export industrial goods and metal ores to the neighboring houses for a more secured income."

"The canyons also providee perfect coverage from the volatile sandstorms ravaging the surface at extreme speeds, rendering most scanners unfunctionable. A military-industrial complex could be established inside one of the spotted larger canyon areas on the northern hemisphere of Rugen. Also noteable is the inactive docking ring, probably also built formerly by the IMG, this could be reactivated for a secured atmospherical entry."

"With that being said, the only other candidates for colonization would be Skagen and Wiesbaden, however Skagen is already respected sovereign territorry of the Core and Wiesbaden lies a bit too far out with possible hostile warship signatures spotted, that a survey could not be conducted. The closer proximity to a possible securable supply line and Planet Skagen around Rugen proves to be the next best bet for a military headquarter for future operations in the Omega Border Worlds."

"Also a matter to take note from is the nearby junker outpost drifting around Rugens outer orbit. They seem to scavenge the debris ring around the planet indicating that this was years ago a heavily fought out area, inbetween the rivalring unlawful organizations around this area. We could establish diplomatic relations with them guaranteeing them their safety of their installation and cleaning up the outer debris fields as they only seem interested with that. The access to their black market could prove useful for us, negotiations are strongly advised."

Connections and Points of Interest

""The researchers team flown route."

"We arrived the system via the Jump Hole connection to Omicron Xi, upon arrival we noticed ourselves in the so called Ferner field, an asteroid field remotely in the periphery of the system, noteable are the larger asteroid rock formations inside the belt, the SNF Tampere and our escorts of fighters were on high alarm of possible encounters with hessians and / or corsair skirmishes, however to our surprise the corridor we passed through leaving the area was empty, no traces of unlawful activities spotted. Also remarkable is the fact of the jump hole being directly close to one of the larger asteroids, could be a possible navigational hazard for larger warships. It is unclear yet if the field houses potential exploitable ressources but a hidden outpost could be established carving out one of the asteroids."

"The system contains multiple jumping anomalies offering great access to the southern Omicrons and western Omegas. A supply route could be established over Omicron Rho - Omicron Xi to Omega-55 using the coverage of the Aegean nebulae hiding us from the surveillance satellites of the corsairs. Advisory for this would be stocking up on larger escort fleets and armored transports, if we would initate colonization of Planet Rugen. Other jump hole connections would be also a direct connection to Rheinland, however this would be unadvisoary, as the Red Hessians frequently patrol the area and have possible warships scouting out the area, fighting the corsairs."

"Another connection would be Omega-48 from Bretonia we could also start deliveries to Omega-55 via a trade route over Poole and Omega-48 leading to Omega-55. The closer proximity to Skagen could provide help from the Core, close cooperation would be beneficial for both parties involved. Sticking to the more common routes taking it safe is more adviseable, as there are no known positions of installations or warships, however Omega-55 appears to provide multiple spots for hostile installations."

"When listening to some of the rumors the junkers are holding it appears that the "Bornholm Pit", the debris field is showplace of some daredevil pilots setting their squarrels in dogfights. We witnessed outselves some daring pilots fighting there. Other more worrisome rumors on that base really exemplifies that it would be adviseable to stock up on a proper warfleet for this area, as more organizations operate there then first anticipated. However the system proves multiple access to routes containing other unlawful forces and is with that of high strategic value."

Conclusion

"As expected the exodus project into the Omega Border Worlds won't be an easy procedure. Multiple steps should be considered carefully before thinking of colonization. However time seems to be on our side, the other rivalring organizations out there are too busy already in their established war and something keeps them off from Rugen for now, we could use this oppurtunity and mayhaps in time could actually claim Rugen as ours. It is not impossible but it will definitely be not an easy task. Stocking up on an adequately sized warfleet will be paramount, so the Juutilainen Expeditionary Force will be mainly tasked for this."

"A while ago one of our Jaeger's fighter wings patrolled the southern parameter of the Omega-55 system, there it appeared, that one pilot found the whereabouts of an abandoned installation floating adrift in space at the outer periphery of the system. They investigated the place and tried to establish contact to the command section, which turned out to give no results. They could establish some sort of connection transmitting a message, but so far we received no reply."

"As command got aware of these informations, they then reached out to The Core to inquire if they would know further informations about this place, but they denied having any intel about this installation. Upon organizing quickly on spot a joint effort research squadron with Core forces, to investigate the place more thoroughly, we came to more informations. Docking ports appear offline, no life signs nearby with no traces of any precursors to be found, except a deformation causing a hull breach. It looks like as if a fighter vessel crashed into the Depot, those are the only signs we could make out so far. Commucations, Electrics, Life Support seem all at a critical state."

"With support of the APM Janus Researcher Vessel and Scientist Jackie Chuck of AP Manufacturing this investigation was conducted successfully. We appreciated their help and interest in this and hope to come to common agreeements over communication channels."

"It is suggested to dispatch an transport hauler carrying Marines to board the station and scout out the interiors of what could have happened, a new oppurtunity arised with this for an own foothold in the system. We should be however prepared to look inside, what could await us. We will board the station with a landing squadron carrying the required assets for this operation, target should be finding out the interior status and reactivating docking ports and internal vital systems. Then we will discuss further what can be done with this depot in this dire state."

"Further notes indicate no biological hazards nor dangerous radiation coming out of the installation, it just appears silent - basically fallen to a long slumber with theorizing that most internal components and decks went offline. Proper equipment for any case will be given to the boarding team."

"The SNF Tampere will be tasked to guard and oversee the operation with fighter squadrons securing the area."
