So...one of your birds came by to lay a message about some sort of offer that really put a strain on my head. Look, I don't want to be mean, impolite or anything of the sort. But don't you think you kind of passed few dozen other more known scientists on the way to Hudson with that Battlecruiser of yours? I've seen it once pass by with a GNI transponder, but now it's all scrambled. What gives?
Anyway...I haven't decided on whether I'd help you or not. Your friend said I should get in touch with you first for more details. So here I am. All ears. Eyes wide open.

Ah yes, hello Mr. Abrams
I'm Cortana Clark a researcher and scientist. My little bird already told me that you may contact me and I would assume I know why she gave you my contact. So about that transponder you mentioned. This ship is currently maintenance while it operates that's why the transponder is faulty from time to time and I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it after all this is sadly not my specialty and the commander of the ship only wants me to touch it.
Now you see I have stumbled upon many scientists, engineers, and researchers but what should I say, I have a bit of a character of my own and if I don't get along with someone I won't work with them it's pretty much that simple. If I have to lose my nerves to work on what I love just because someone doesn't like me or I don't like them it's a waste of time and energy.
The reason why you probably got my contact is that you work in some form in the Nomadic Research field which is obviously also the field I work in and I'm always on the look for new and good scientists who want to adapt their technology for humanity to make proper and good use of it. This is the simple truth most people avoid me or my little team of scientists simply because it is seen as some form of heresy to work on that technology when you don't work for an official government or at least that's what I have experienced so far, I'm sure you have gotten some strange looks when you openly spoke about it too.
My usual proposal would be direct and strictly that we work on different kinds of projects together and achieve truly great things but I think we should take it slow and maybe we can even develop a mutual friendship.

I haven't said anything specific in public about that, yet multiple organizations tend to just show up around my home, or just stalk me directly. Sometimes I get shot at, too. I assume you now know why I'm being fairly cautious about who I talk with regarding my main topics.

Indeed, Indeed I could not agree more with you that is dangerous to talk about these topics. This is also a reason why I have my "family" how I like to call it around me. The Battlecruiser you saw is also part of that and I usually fly around in a heavily armored Cruiser myself. You can never be careful enough sadly. I probably couldn't even count how many times I got shot from people who don't understand the potential that just waits to be used.
Well, with those great things I mainly talk about the adaption or the more efficient hybridization of nomad technology onto human technology. You see I was one of the very very few people who actually managed to create my own adaption of a weapon prototype that is now fully functioning on one of my smaller ships. So I would proudly say that I'm one of the more advanced scientists when it comes to this matter. However, I do sometimes lack certain knowledge like shields for example, or even more complicated matters like Hyperdrives. I understand the basic concept and started to study it but I seem to can not get the hang of it. This is why I would like to see some additional brainpower to work with me on those projects. Just imagine how we could protect ourselves against nomads if we could create shields for our bases and ships with their own technology.
This would also be the first project that I may like to start with you. I want to create a shield for cruisers or even bigger then if we achieve that we can start to scale it up or down depended on our needs.

For starters, think about the Nomads' "shields" - which aren't really shields at all. Think of them as tiny micro-organisms sacrificing themselves to absorb any and all damage intended for the Nomad to take. That includes radiation. I suspect that these micro-organisms filter that part out at their own expense. Though I'm not sure.
I can try and help, but don't expect anything all too great from where I'm holed up in, despite recent Nomad activity. I can at the very best put it on my list while I take care of my own problems, since I can't give up on the situation in Kepler.
For short? I'll help out with whatever I can, provided I'm not doing it for absolutely nothing in return. I doubt that would be a problem, I suppose, right?

I'm deeply sorry for my delay regarding those matters. Once me and my team optained the samples we got overrun by goverment forces who tried to seize all of our samples and research papers.
We had to cut a lot of ties due to that because me and my crew were wanted in almost all systems in and around liberty. There was no way we could have arrived savely at your destination without bringing trouble to you too. I do hope you can understand that and I hope that this won't make a too strong dent in our fresh partnership.
However, the good news is that we still have the samples on our ship and now that we have our ship fitted with some better equipment to go undetected by local authoroties we should be able to arrive at your destination without much trouble. If you wish to continue on this that is.
