Idea One: 'Cargo Security Compromised'

Simply a warning light that would come on (Like the radiation detector) when your ship gets scanned by another player.

In some other games, the ship has a detector built in, allowing you to know when curious pilots start up their cargo scanners. And I am sure that someone can piece together the ship AI voice bits to say something relevent when it happens (if any of this is possible).

Idea Two: 'Emergancy Power Allocation'

A set of hotkeys will allow you to transfer power between ship systems- Thursters, Shields, Powerplant.

Activating the EPA would use 80% of the donor system's power, and restore 20% (maybe 10%) power to the target system. Can only be used when the donor system is at 100% power.... to avoid abuse/ use in place of shield batteries

Example- In a fight your guns need a desperate boost in power, activate the [EPA: Thruster-> Power Plant]

Thruster power falls to 20% and your gun power goes up

Again, just ideas. No idea if they are even possible coding wise

MMM...you make me want to play Tie Fighter. Sounds great but I don't know if FLHook can go that far.

Power transfer isn't possible, however the other idea could work..

With FLHook, we can set it so that when you scan a ship, it says to that player (and yourself) some sentence about how ship X is scanning Ship Y. Or anything similar. And icon coming on -might- be possible, I don't know as thats not an area I mod in.

I would really love a scan indicator. Doesnt even have to tell you exactly who is scanning you, just that you are being scanned. Great idea kikatsu. This could change things a lot in Bretonia concidering cargo scanning is technically illegal for unauthorized personal there...

I scan every ship I come across, simply to see what they are flying and who they are etc.
This might make me seem a bit creepy:P

The second idea makes me think of Starlancer... it had a thing like that. I don't think it would work well in the Freelancer enviroment though. First idea is really good though, and I approve.

actually this would be possible if im not mistaken. The scan part that is. Through FLHook, have it where when person A scans person B, person B will get the talking person at the top left like the police forces do. That would be an indicator your getting scanned. As for you knowing its a player, if you have contraband and the voice doesn't say drop it.....thats how

I very much like the idea of displaying a photo compared to a message. It's much more immersive, and what stops someone from spamming o and spamming your chat?

XD, thats what I do! Back on topic, I definently think it could work via FLhook. But it should just be a short "scanning" message, with a picture, to prevent spamming.

Well, seeing as you're supposed to scan IDs in RP cases, and I often do, to see what the occasional LPI tagged trader actually is, it may be a little problematic and not actually very useful, since you would have permenant messages of people scanning your ID.
