Good day,

It has been over a week since Gallia refused to meet our demands. According to the Treaty of Harris, which you have signed together with Kusari and us, our three states should place an embargo on Gallia. Kusari has done it, we have done it, but while I have noticed that your laws have removed Kusari from the list of enemies, I can also see that they have not been updated with this embargo. Please explain why this is so, and please tell me when Crayter intends to place the embargo on Gallia.

Greetings Lady Mountbatten,,

The efficiency and swiftness of diplomacy of the Bretonian Kingdom is indeed admirable, to say the least. The Ministry has in fact received word of your communication with the Gallic government and their apparent refusal to meet your requirements. Our foreign ministry has also been in contact with our Gallic diplomats to find out more information on their refusal, with aims to urge a conclusion that will keep the peace. We have been informed they are willing to release to the Crayter Republic a list of those executed for war crimes and brought to justice. They have noted that Admiral Dupuoy has escaped justice thus far, and can be presumed alive and still at large though we are assured all available resources are going towards his recapture, as well as any remaining members of the DeFrance family.

Our close relationship with the Kingdom of Bretonia is of great importance and value to the Republic, but so also is our delicate and still-recovering economic ties in the Taus and to this end, it is important we ascertain all the details before shutting that door. Rest assured Lady Mountbatten, we will get to the bottom of this hastily and be in contact with you shortly.

In service to the Republic.

Good day Miss Ward,

I would indeed like to have that list. I respect any intention to mediate. You probably saw it from me, when Bretonia risked its fortune to mediate between you and Kusari and ensure you peace. But you are not risking anything of your own in this mediation scheme of yours, are you? To my office, it appears as if you are attempting to excuse your nation from the articles of the Harris Treaty that are not beneficial enough for its interests, yet keep those that are, under the guise of "mediation". In truth, you read and studied all of the treaty's articles, you weighed its benefits and downsides, and you signed it. The original is available for you in Tarbert Mansion if you want to check: there is indeed your signature, clear, visible and legible, on the treaty document. And the Treaty of Harris says:

1. Bretonia will send a list of demands to Gallia. These will include and be limited to:

Gallia is reminded to follow all decisions of the Leviathan Accords, except as said here.
Gallia will immediately extradite Admiral Louis Dupouy, who was in command of the Dax Fleet during the Glassing of Leeds, to Bretonia.
Gallia will immediately notify Bretonia if any surviving legitimate members of the DeFrance dynasty are found in Gallia and extradite them to Bretonia as soon as possible.
EFL will provide free maintenance to all elements of the EFL TLaGs network in New London, Leeds and Tau 31, for the following 10 years.
IDF will rebuild or finance the reconstruction of what prewar spatial infrastructure is left to rebuild in Leeds within the next 10 years.
GMS will finance the colonisation of Planet Carlisle for the next 10 years.

2. If any of these demands is not met by Gallia, then Kusari, Crayter and Bretonia will place a total embargo on all and any ships coming to and from Gallia.

Gallia has fulfilled none of these conditions. I expect that I can trust Crayter's signature. In case you wish to not uphold the embargo, I trust you are aware that withdrawing from the Treaty of Harris will invalidate your peace with Kusari?

Lady Mountbatten,

I am aware of the terms of the treaty. I was there, and my name is on the documentation. I even took a copy for our archives.
I know what I signed, Lady Mountbatten. The Quorum of Ministers approved and authorized it.

Understand, however, that the enforcement of these treaties is never cut-and-dry. Expecting a foreign government to pay war reparations without a plan is doomed to fail; Some ancient Human history may ring a bell. This will only cause destabilization in the Tau region, which as the primary force in the Taus we're very interested in avoiding. As such, we are working to actively entice Gallia's cooperation starting with gathering information from their end.

To that end, the details of the Union's capital punishment sessions was forwarded to us a while ago, and after careful examination we've confirmed that Admiral Dupuoy is not among them. You may examine them for yourself as well, naturally:

To remedy this, and to entice Gallia even further, Minister Westbrook of Defense has suggested a combined triumvirate effort, Crayter, Gallia, and Bretonia, to remove the Royalists, which would almost certainly eliminate Dupuoy as well. I suspect many of the DeFrance family are residing with these remnants as well, which only works towards the terms of the treaty.

To counter this support towards removing a thorn in all three nations' sides, we urge Gallia to submit to the rest of the terms of the treaty. Should they refuse, then we will enforce the embargo, but only once we've made our case clear. Rashness has no place in diplomacy, Lady Mountbatten. I am a firm believer in that, as is the Republic. Otherwise, we risk going down a road once traveled before by arguably the worst our species has to offer.

In service to the Republic.
