Scientific Opportunity


Allow me to introduce myself - I am professor Ivan Petrov - and I am collecting manpower and materials to try some own space weaponry theories in practice, although I am still in the middle of securing research vessel for my work.

Instead of some aimless experiments in my flying laboratory to satisfy my curiosity - I would like create something useful for our agents as well. This would allow me to collect valuable data while creating such weaponry and its inner working principles, and the result should be working weapons for our agents.

If you say yes - please, tell me some specifications and my team will start working. I might have some requests later - while I and my team can do research and development work ourselves, we might require some exotic materials for our works and maybe even escort to places with interesting spatial properties.

Good day, Mr. Petrov.

I am Sally Wilson, one of the scientists working at Damascus Research Station. You have contacted us just at the very right time because high-ranked officers have a concern in regards to recon ships all around Sirius sector. Despite having the newest Grim Reapers and Magma Hammers modifications for Light fighters, we need something extremely deadly. The gun can fire and crush your pursuiter once and for all.

For now, we have several stored Heimdall prototypes. They are efficient and powerful cannons, however, they do not meet all requirements High Command needs. We could try to reform their superchargers with our ones based on Azurite cell, but we need a complete schematic concept of Firekiss Rheinland cannon reforming. I remember some copies must be saved on Gran Canaria, on the polar base that had been occupied a while ago. I want to ask you to visit Gran Canaria and extract package SalWil1Lv.tarzi from physical storage and send files to me.

For my part, we can provide lab and needed resources to finish work under the weaponry project.

I have finally managed to acquire a vessel for my work - OSD N. Copernicus. I will begin the operation on 17-10-828 at 1800 Sirian Time. Me and my team will begin working on those schematics as soon as we get back to Omicron Mu safety.

I will inform you on our progress once we begin. My coworkers already have some working theories how to improve weapon potency, although a lot of work will have to be done in order to make those guns sufficiently stable and reliable.

Experiments have begun


Thanks to valiant agents from the Black Fleet, OSD N. Copernicus made its journey to Planet Gran Canaria and back unharmed. With necessary blueprints in our hands, we may begin our weapon experiments. And you have not warned that such a young lady will be accompanying us on our way back home. Oh, sometimes I wish to be twenty years younger...

For the safety of the Damascus Research Station, we will be doing our experiments aboard OSD N. Copernicus in a safe distance. We will be pushing limits of already potent weapons by using Azurite power cells to enhance their effectiveness.

According to our estimates and first laboratory tests, liquid nitrogen would not be able to cool down these weapons effectively. Its thermal capacity is not simply enough for our needs and as such, we will be forced to use rather crude cooling technique - liquid lead, as it has superior thermal capacity and will act as additional shielding.
It will have one minor drawback - these weapons will have to be always hooked on some power sources to keep the metal liquid and flowing. It does not have to be your ship, any auxiliary power supply in docks will do, just do not turn them off for too long. Once the metal inside becomes solid - whole cooling circuit will have to replaced.
