Jane S. Thach - the reluctant refugee. Embedded personal log. - Nika - 11-08-2022
Name: Jane S. Thach Age: 37 y.o. Height: 194 cm / 6'4" Weight: 96 kg / 211.6 lbs Alias: Sarah Mitchell If one decides to run a basic search, or address the issue deeper they will find that latest existing entry dates back to 822 A.S., suggesting her relocation to planet Veracruz, where her humble person lived a modest and quiet life among civilian populace of the Commonwealth; and only few odd individuals, more often illicit than not will suggest her connection to a now defunct private military contractor and corporate warfare, and that with the PMC destruction or dissolution the corporation's parting gift was making her, as well as surviving members disappear. For the woman later on resurface in the ranks of newly formed Insurgency as second-in-command on one of the most controversial warships of the newly formed Naval Forces: The Enterprise; christened as such in the ranks of Liberty Naval Forces it was recorded as missing in action after the infamous scouring of Bering. Some dusty LSF records contain a faint remark on it being responsible for holding in custody and transferring an important prisoner of war - however, it is also known that Enterprise have never reached it's assumed destination. It was finally struck out of Liberty Navy records upon it's renewed sightnings - under the Insurgent colors and actively combatting along it's units all across Liberty with majority of active operations in California, Texas and New York - until Liberty Navy found resources to brute force their way into Vespucci and effectively lay siege to Veracruz. One of the best drilled crews and vessels in Insurgency Navy, it stood firmly defending what effectively was a last stand. In what was supposed to be a final push by the Delaware it was on spearhead of the desperate defense with what at this point could be considered a ragtag band scraped from the bottom of the barrel and, even though Delaware, pride of the Liberty Navy now is nothing but a smoldering wreck - victory came at a high cost. Commanding officer of Enterprise have met her demise in the battle and Thach, as next highest ranked officer, took command of the ship and, as position at Veracruz was no longer tenable and command structure of Insurgency have collapsed, practically leaving a single admiral still holding her position and issuing orders. All in all, Thach, as new commanding officer, saw staying on defense no longer tenable and have instead put effort into evacuating the vessel and the crew to a safe place before deciding it's further fate. With the help of The Order and a desperate rush across half the Sirius, the Enterprise have reached safety - for a given amount of safety in the Omicrons, where it had a brief provisional stay, deciding on a further move, patching up the holes and stocking up on supplies. Eventually, an agreement has been reached with the Bretonia Armed Forces to integrate the vessel into the current structure, along with the crew. Currently, Jane S. Thach is a Bretonian resident of planet Carlisle under the name of Constantia Cantacuzino, and Enterprise, rechristened The Incomparable, is in jurisdiction of 4th Great Fleet, based on the same planet. It's been some days since I've settled down on Carlisle - courtesy of Bretonian crown; Armed Forces ended up being more receptive that I've expected. The Enterprise and the crew have all been accomodated and intergrated into the structure under Fourth Great Fleet and Paul McKinley. Horatio suggested to "make closer acquaintance with the Admiral." And that's what I'll do, anyway - will be looking into overall composition for some minimal awareness, for a fine beginning.
Well, what can I say about Carlisle? It's hot here, uncomfortably hot; and there's a few carnivores, counted by the fingers of both hands that wouldn't mind having a taste of human. Some of the crew preferred to stay aboard Incomparable and, well... I can't blame them. Not everyone cut for service on a warship is a tough nut fancy living in extreme conditions. Not going to push them into extremes, not like I've got any authority over their living conditions. If a bunk's more comfortable for them that the planetside apartments or barracks? So be it. I'm sure the Navy's still obsessed and on a manhunt. Well, now they're welcome to turn the whole Sirius upside down - we'll be right in their spotlight, a place they won't even look at. It appears that Coronado is hosting joint exercises in two days - will be a fine drill to keep up the crew's shape and try to gauge the Navy's current action plan - never know who might lower their guard and a slip a word between the lines. Post scriptum. I'm quite liking that Order-provided VR suite... fitting for recording monologues. RE: Jane S. Thach - the reluctant refugee. I was wondering what's been taking the Admiralty so long, but it's may be just me being impatient for no good reason. But just barely half an hour ago, message notification snapped me awake - my presence's requested on New London, so it's going to be a short recording; I'll be moving right away as I don't want to make the respectable men waiting. And this is where I'll consult the top brass on feasibility of deploying her to NATO exercises.
Anyway, it's better not to keep the Board waiting. Vera, I'm off for a meeting! What? Yes, I live with my second in command... |
