[Mining Event] Gold Rush COMPLETED - All Worlds - 10-22-2022
Gold Rush
A Community Event
Description
Demand for Gold has never been stronger in Sirius! Supply of the product clears out as fast as Bretonian and Independent mining operations can bring it in, and base operators struggle to keep stocked so they don't become the weak link in the supply chain.
In response to this demand, All Worlds Enterprises & Securities has authorized its Interspace Commerce base at Ulster Station, Dublin, to adjust purchase prices and provide added incentives to spur miners into action!
Details
Event start - This event will begin after the morning server restart on Oct 22.
Primary Objective: - Mine Gold Ore from Dublin system, E2 and deliver to Ulster Station, Dublin F4.
Excert Source Credit and more information: Discovery Mining Guide
For those who are new to mining in Discovery, keep this in mind - You will need a specialized mining ship to harvest ores. More on this in a moment.
- Mining requires mining turrets in addition to a mining ship.
- Finally, you require a mining company ID (for example, DHC) with a matching IFF, or alternatively, an independent Freelancer ID, available for sale on most stations.
- Ore is automatically transferred into your cargo bay. You don’t have to tractor in ore as per vanilla / other previous mods.
- Only mining turrets are effective for mining. Other weapons are practically useless for mining operations.

Surveyor Light Fighter All around weak, with a small loadout and cargo hold. Nimble but otherwise ineffective for mining by yourself - useful as a miner for larger transports.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 1-2-3-4-5
Scraper Very Heavy Fighter Stronger than the Surveyor, but still small. Ineffective without a friend in a cargo vessel.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slot 7
Arrastra Super Heavy Fighter The strongest of the “generic miner” line, capable of being used as a combat vessel or escort, but very unwieldy. Unrecommended for either combat or mining.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 3-4-5-6-7
Spatial Super Heavy Fighter Heavier than the Arrastra with a massive wingspan, this fighter is more useful for combat than anything else. Possible but ineffective to mine in.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 7-8
Tournez Gallic Light Fighter A gallic facsimile of the Surveyor. Roughly as effective.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 1-2-3-4-5
Courbe Gallic Very Heavy Fighter Same as above, for the Scraper.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slot 1-2-3-4
Plier Gallic Super Heavy Fighter Same as above, for the Arrastra.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 1-2-3-4
Collector Very Heavy Fighter A relatively light Junker craft that may be used to mine scrap, although it is not recommended.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 6-7
Recycler Super Heavy Fighter A large Junker super heavy fighter, the Recycler may be used in a similar respect as the CSF, although its lower cargo hold and larger frame make it an easy target for pirate craft.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 3-4-7
AI Drone Gammu AI super heavy fighter.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 5-6 Kestrel Given as the default starter ship.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 3-4-5-6-7
Anki A small freighter, similar to the Kestrel in function and size.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 3-4-5-6

CSF Larger cousin of the CSV, with multiple forward-firing mining turret mounts. More practical for a group mining vessel, but not recommended as a standalone craft.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 4-5-7-8
CSV Small junker freighter with little armament or cargo hold. Due to a rear-firing turret, it is practically useless for mining.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 4-5 Hegemon Large Transport The most ubiquitous mining vessel, tends to become a bit stuck and is very large for its cargo size. Holds the largest amount of turrets of any mining vessel, but remains a very easy target for pirates.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 1-2-3-4
Kaiser Mining Ship Newly introduced Rheinland mining vessel with Hegemon-like cargo hold.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 2-3-4-5
Kamome A medium-size transport, the Kamome is utilized for Helium-3 collecting.

Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 4-5-6-7
Dunlin A defense-oriented civilian frigate with limited mining capabilities, occasionally used by Freelancers, Zoners and Junkers.
Mining Array Hardpoints Place on slots 1-2-3-4
Alternative Objectives: - Provide Corporate or Private Security Escort for any miners and traders in Dublin as they run the route to Ulster Station with Gold Ore.
Event completion - This event will have a hard stop once limit is reached. Ulster Station will stop accepting Gold Ore at 200,000 units, and will shortly thereafter be set back to Sell only standard pre-event prices. Overflow at that point at still be sold to local bases which may still be purchasing such as BMF's Fortitudine in New London B6.
- This event has a limit - upon reaching limit any further purchases will advise ship at station.
- First ship that hits the limit for the event should communicate this to Event Coordinator (on this thread or other methods) so others can be informed
- Provide shipname so some credits for this alert can be provided.
Incentives
Primary Objective - 5000 per unit dock prices, paid directly to the delivery ship.
Bonus: Any traders choosing to report their deliveries on forums on this thread to Ulster Station will compete for a prize of an additional 50M credits for top supplier.
Alternative Objectives:
Providing Corporate or Private Security Escort can be compensated without the need for Forum reports.
- You can use: /PM AWES-Msg <text here> to advise Event Coordinator in brief about ships involved in Escort.
- Of course you can accept direct pay as well from traders!
A reminder to all lawful traders participating that these efforts are completely covered by the recently revealed AWES Insurance & Claims Program. After 2 successful reporting communications, piracy and loss coverage will be in force, should the worst happen. Another option to consider if unpleasant unprofitable encounters arise!
Note: *Some of these processes are 'being fully tested' - please have patience if we need to iron out the kinks!*

AWES is proud to bring another event to the server will the help of our friends from administration, development, and many different factions.
We will continue to provide ongoing trade events as much as we can. The intention of these events is not just creating opportunities for making traders rich in a weekend, but to give a bit of predictability for sources of interaction and activity between traders and all the security escort, military, and even unlawful forces in areas of event. Hopefully in this way some satisfying RP can be had by all.
There are other non-trade activities in the works as well - they just take a bit more planning and development!
If you have ideas that you think would well implemented in the game MOSTLY BY PLAYERS for events, we are open to privately discussing and seeing how we can make this happen, provided it fits within our realm of activity/influence. You can also just use: /PM AWES-Msg <text here>
We want to be part of the solution! Help us build regular activity!
We wholeheartedly endorse and try to lead by example in the principles of Server Rules General Conduct Paragraph 1:- Be excellent to one another and to use common sense.
- Keep fair play in mind and have consideration for others.
- It's a game, and nothing is gained or lost save for the experience.
- Credits can be re-earned and ammunition replenished.
- If you become infuriated, step away.
- If you make a mistake, apologize.
RE: [Mining Event] Gold Rush - Couden - 10-22-2022
No PvP/Piracy bonus?
RE: [Mining Event] Gold Rush - All Worlds - 10-22-2022
Unfortunately there will not be pvp/piracy bonuses for this event. There will be above average opportunities for those type of interactions with participants, which can likely then be directed to existing Lawful/Unlawful Bounty boards. Thank you for your interest.
