I am "Echo". Covert employee of the Johnny's Office.
We are currently the target of a proxy conflict with Bretonia, using the Bounty Hunters Guild as an indirect force to target us. We already have been in combat, and despite the fact that we have been cooperating with the Bretonian Armed Forces, it seems they have decided to ditch us, like many does with the type of organization we represent. We are going to be truthful with you - this message will self-destruct and will be unreadable by you after you open it. We're sorry, but we need to be careful in our steps. We would like to know if you can host the non-combatant personel on a planet or station of yours. These non-combatant personel; we cannot disclose you the number yet. We want to avoid as much casualties, or at least suffering, from their end. We, investigators and managers of the Johnny's Office, can handle the combat until it's over, but the civilians we have onboard, while wishing to continue operating our mobile headquarters, it is also the target. We would like to know if it's possible to have them delivered to one of your location, discreetely, without it being noted, saved, or anything. Purely stealthily. They are used to live in conditions akin to, well, a spaceship, so renting a small remote hotel that is unused, as long as they have food, water, and some kind of entertainment, and means of personal self-defense if some assaassins decides to showup (we're not asking for a dreadnought, just the permission for them to carry arms). Please entertain this idea. In short, we need to meet in person, or if you're unwilling to accept it directly. I will be in a snubcraft. The position will be divulged to you in an even more Private Manner if you accept to communicate with us, and accept to entertain this idea. We will, of course, pay you for the protection you will deliver to this non-combatant personnel. We do not want useless death. They are not aware of anything our Office do. We compartimentalize our operations, and no information gets lost to the people who don't need to know. They are also aware of this. I hope you can understand what I am trying to do here. ![]() ID: Hermann Schmidt Location: Planet Baden Baden, Stuttgart To: "Echo, Johnny's office" Subject: "Hospitality" Herr, or Frau, "Echo", Herr Schmidt, regional manager for OS&C in Rheinland and Omegas. I must confess that responding to a self-destructing communication, dragging even the sender and how to track him down into oblivion, was not such a pleasant task. Not for me individually of course, our technicians on Neural-Net have done their job.
I'd say that a vis-à-vis discussion is a must, given the aura of secrecy that hung over your communication. Let me be clear, the fact that Orbital agrees to contact you and your "office" does not in any way guarantee that your request will actually be accepted. Just as you demand understanding from us, we also expect you to understand how potentially detrimental this can be to the Company: from our end, knowing neither you nor your real purpose nor where you are active, you could be a group of terrorists or fugitives from the House Authorities. Given all of this for granted, I agree to meet you personally. I imagine you won't mind knowing that a couple of agents from our security squadron will be on call if needed. It's good to trust others, but not to do so is better. I would say that except for the northern regions of the Omicrons all other locations are fine. Bis bald, Echo. Greetings. For your information, it is Madam, or Miss. I fully understand your concerns, and I am willing to meet you directly. The reason why the message is "self-destructing" is to make sure the message will not be used against us or against you in the future. It is both your and our security, and sake of our respective organizations. The aura of secrecy emanating from me, or from our Office is simple, our Office is not easy to see into, and we seek to work with everyone, and our motto, "We don't ask questions", reflects it perfectly. Our Office - Johnny's Office, is not a group of terrorists, nor fugitives. We all have citizenships, and are merely an organization that emerged from a few people who retired earlier from their posts as Officers from various Houses, of their own volition. These non-combatant personnel are all the same, except that they are not ex-officers from the Armed Forces, or the Police, or Intelligence Agency of their Houses. They are maintenance personnel, logistics personnel, etc. Civilian positions. They are civilians. They're hired by our Office, legally, via a contract. Our Office itself is registered as a LLC on Planet Manhattan, and is a legal organization. It is our job, and currently, our job seems to have angered the Crown. Once again, the objective here is to protect our non-combatant personnel. Those who are not Freelancers. A hundred and ten non-combatant personnel currently hidden aboard a Frigate, itself hidden. It is also a race against time, due to the conditions of living aboard the Frigate being subpar. We made our best to make them as comfortable as possible, and the Frigate's onboard systems are capable of handling 110 personnel at once, despite it being rated by us after the modification to a maximum of 80 people at once, so, over-capacity of 30, or 137.5% of the Frigate's capacity. As you titled this communication "hospitality", we seek refuge for these 110 non-combatant personnel, and a place where they would live until the proxy conflict with the Bounty Hunters Guild will subside. We estimate the end of this proxy conflict to be at around the 15th of December of 20th, so we would not be overstaying and profiting off of your company. We are not immoral people like those who turn their backs at the people who worked for them, such as the Crown... Pardon me, this is merely my opinion. We, as an organization, have no opinion of nobody, we are here to offer answer a demand in the market, not make enemies, it's bad for business - I suppose you know that just as well as I. Due to our secrecy, as I mentioned earlier, only one callsign is known to the Bounty Hunters, and the opportunistic Freelancer raider. We can meet anywhere you want. Just give a time and a date, and I will join you, if you want to speak in orbit. I wouldn't mind Planet Baden Baden, just like I wouldn't mind Freeport 1, since the communication's origin is from Baden Baden. Thank you for replying, and entertaining the idea. Much appreciated, even if it doesn't end up in a positive outcome. Regards, "Echo", from Johnny's Office. ![]() ID: Hermann Schmidt Location: Planet Baden Baden, Stuttgart To: "Echo, Johnny's office" Subject: "Hospitality" Frau Echo, Now that the picture is more outlined, I am decidedly more in favor of the meeting. There are still some unclear aspects, but I expect to dispel all my doubts shortly.
One hundred and ten souls, well, I expected fewer people for such a discreet organization like yours. I wonder how you managed to cram them onto a single ship for what, months? I understand that time is short, at this point I'd rather see us on Freeport 1, face to face. We have long-term rented rooms where you can discuss away from prying eyes. Report to the mooring authorities as "Miss Steinbeck," they'll know where to escort you. I'll be waiting for you there. Hermann Schmidt > > > > Closing Transmission < < < <

I am glad that I managed to dispel some of these uncertainties in you. I hope I will manage to dispel the rest of them once we'll meet. Ah, these one hundred and ten souls. No, of course not, we did not cram them in the Frigate. Although the new ship right now is not as adequately furnished for human living as the previous one. While both are capable of hosting that amount, and for the new Frigate, if we had time to finish the modifications, it would've been much easier. The current mobile HQ, nick-named Swift Silence, requires 40 souls, we go by shifts, where we drop off via shuttle the rest of the crew, we keep usually around 40 of these at each given time. The rest, going back for a few days to their families. Right now though, we all agreed that we were all in danger, and thus we embarked everyone and evacuated. Thankfully, the new Frigate was ready for use as it was, it was in a shipyard receiving said modifications. They weren't completed, and everyone went on board. That's the story for them. In fact it's rather spacious. Mostly because the inner hull and walls were removed to follow the new plans, as we refurbished the entirety of the living quarters and beyond, within the cargo space. It's like a new house under renovations. Freeport 1. "Miss Steinback". Got it. Thank you for this. I will come alone, as usual, in a ship not tracked by the authorities. Thank you again. See you there. Regards, "Echo", from Johnny's Office. |
