Hey.

Still no update on the big job, but the small one... well, got nothing good.

I decided to handle it personally, since, well. I was doing it for a favor. Didn't wanna ask anyone else to take the risk for a personal thing. Stupid. Should have had backup - or at least been more cautious.

I'll start at the beginning.

I spent a few weeks searching for the target since our talk in Bering - and Puerto Rico. Funny thing: the technofreaks always appear when you're busy with something else, but the second you go looking for them? Nowhere to be found. But I asked around, and my search led me to Inverness.

Guess wandering into the enemy stronghold and demanding parley wasn't the best idea, huh? Thought I would scout the area, maybe get an idea of the opposition. But the talks were going nowhere, and then their security ships started creeping towards me. That's when I knew I had to cut and run, but it wasn't enough.

I was sure I scouted my escape route, but one of the Auxo ships was somehow waiting for me on the other side of the jump hole in Coronado. I was able to evade them for a while, but eventually, the whole fleet, at least five hostiles, caught up to me and riddled my ship full of holes. Silencer missiles and everything. No holds barred, against one fighter. Guess I'm not surprised.

I'm alive, but I'm gonna be out of action for a while. Thank God for the ejection seat.

You will find out that I'm right about many things regarding the Technocracy. I've done a lot of f*cked up things, but none of them compare to what these freaks do even to this day. At least now you know I wasn't talking smack about them for no reason.

Let's clear up one thing though. You don't owe me anything. Never even consider the fact that you have to do something for me unless you want to. I'm not some public figure that expects the f*cking moon delivered on a plate.

There are a few things I need to sort out in the Omicrons. Several infected figures roam about and someone has to flush them out. Some of them were seen in Rheinland, too. I'll wire you a few credits to cover up the repairs for your bomber when I get the chance though.

I appreciate your words, though. And the credits for fixing my ship. And you know what, maybe it's an indication of what a sad state we're in, but I see more humanity in a guy who's been borged into a half-machine hell-bent on a one-man crusade than in most of these corporate drones, Imperialist cronies, and all the other clowns that look down on us lowly goons. Funny how that works.

So, you're up to some stuff in the Omicrons? Godspeed. Don't let some infected bastard get the drop on you. The boys and I sometimes pass through the Edge Worlds on our way to a gig. Don't know if you remember, but we met at Freeport 11 briefly, a while ago.

That's when I had my first run-in with the Core, and that encounter was not hostile. It's also when I've seen an actual, live Nomad for the first time, but that's another story.

The Core are a weird bunch. Some say they're the true saviors of humanity. Some say they are just as ruthless as any other Corporation, with the exception that they have the muscle to back up every claim they make. Honestly? Both of them are somewhat true, yet it all boils down to profit.

Personally I'm not a fan of working with them on a day by day basis. But at least the work I do with them isn't by any means troublesome to my portfolio. To me, it kind of works To you? I honestly wouldn't know. If they want to do something with you, it'll be off the record.

From the logs you've provided I'd assume they're open for business. So go ahead. Give it a shot. It never hurts to aim for the big leagues every now and then. Just don't mention me while having a chat with the Guildmaster. Not that I'd mind, but there's ears everywhere. And you don't want people to find out what we've been cooking together as of late.
