The ship was originally built to serve as a luxury liner for the rich and opulent. However, the order was cancelled at the last moment and the ship was left to sit abandoned in the Renzu Shipyards. SLRC purchased the ship from Renzu as a blank slate without any of the interior completed. The Zoner scientists began preliminary work on the vessel near Ikarus Station to prep the ship for the installation of an IRG Core which would serve as a power source for the ARAPSS Mk. VIII "Augur" Active Probing Scanner which come standard on the Corvo Science Vessels. However, compatibility issues quickly arose between the systems and the entire project was scrapped, leaving the Endurance to once again sit unused. In 830 A.S, a purpose was once again found for ship. With the Aurora Borealis regularly out on survey missions, a secondary ship was needed to help with the demand for hyperspatial coordinates. However, due to the advanced nature of the Aurora Borealis and it's construction, a duplicate ship was unable to be manufactured due to it's complicated nature. The Renzu Liner was selected as it's sister ship due to the space available onboard for the fuel required to properly operate the Survey Module. The ship was once again going under the knife.

It's modifications were done for one purpose and one purpose only: surveying deep space and living to tell the tale. It flies under the flag of the Starlight Research Consortium, a scientific group of Zoners stationed out of the Tau systems but has been seen from Pennsylvania all the way out into the very distant edge worlds and beyond. It's purpose is to survey for hyperspatial coordinates and explore the deepest reaches of Sirius where not even the bravest dare. ![]() The Bridge Much like her sister ship the Aurora, her bridge was moved deeper inside the ship due to the extreme dangers that incurred from existing in deep space for long periods of times. Those dangers aren't limited to enemies either but stellar phenomena, anomalies, singularities, extreme solar wind, and other dangers. The original bridge still exists onboard but is used as a secondary bridge in case the primary ever is damaged or destroyed due to unforeseen events. ![]() The Hyperspace Scanning Lab ![]() The Recreation Hall While the size of the recreation room may not be as grandiose as the Aurora, it's a requirement for long distance survey missions for her crew. The area is simply used for those crewmembers who might want a drink after a long day of work, for those crew members with a day off, or for meal breaks during shifts. Often used for large department meetings due to the space afforded by the size of the room. ![]() Accommodations The sleeping quarters are a tad larger than other science vessels in the SLRC fleet due to the size and original purpose of the liner. While the rooms are larger, more comfortable, and with more privacy than a standard vessel of it's type, the experience is still very spartan for type of experience the ship was originally intended for. The rooms each have a work space available with a custom keyed terminal for their personal and professional use with a direct link to the Scanning Lab for any late night work or bursts of inspiration. Each room comes with a small corner bathroom and kitchen combo. //END AUDIO PLAYBACK// //RETURN TO MENU?// ( Y / N ) ///CLOSING FILE: HAVE A NICE DAY/// |
