Vista+Norton 2009 and Freelancer - Klaw117 - 04-25-2009 Ok, I'm building a new computer and I'm installing Windows XP, but I originally wanted to install Windows Vista. The only reason I changed my mind was because I wanted to keep playing Freelancer and I knew Vista+Norton=No FL. Now, what I want to know is...WHY? Why does Norton and Vista not work well together? I want to see if there is ANY way whatsoever to get around this. By the way, the version of Norton I'm using is Norton Internet Security 2009. Vista+Norton 2009 and Freelancer - mwerte - 04-26-2009 cause Norton is a load of bull feces. Only bull feces is worth more then Norton. Vista+Norton 2009 and Freelancer - msgerbs - 04-26-2009 Nobody really knows why, but certain programs, even those that claim to not have firewalls, mix unpleasantly with vista to block ipv4 as freelancer uses it, at least as far as I can understand it. And, what the person above said. Vista+Norton 2009 and Freelancer - Knucklehead - 04-26-2009 I know this isn't really related, but have those who bash Norton even tried the newest versions yet? Vista+Norton 2009 and Freelancer - spec - 04-26-2009 It's not Just norton, many AV/Firewalls don't allow Freelancer to connect when installed. You don't even get connected if you disable the firewall it has to be uninstalled. It's something to do with DXPlay - some code which the Vista guys screwed up I guess. |
