What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - tazuras - 04-29-2009 Well, I originally wrote this for Yue so she could decide whether or not she wanted to make a Gallic char but I figured everyone else might find it useful as well, so here goes: ' Wrote:Gallia is the only place in Sirrius where a revolution may occur, this is amazing material for RP. A place where things have gotten so bad for people that they have turned against their government and not only that but some are so loyal and faithful that they are willing to kill their own people, brother killing brother, sister killing sister, etc... What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - jammi - 04-29-2009 To be honest, I've been avoiding the place like a seriously contagious disease - the vast majority of people shouldn't IC know about it, and if they do they shouldn't know enough to want to risk dragging their Adv. Trains through to the middle of no-where. Plus I've heard it's about as oorp as New York in the days when the damage was turned off... *shudders* As for what Gallia is like for outsiders... I should have thought it would be an incredibly short and painful experience once the GRN track them down. Trains through to the middle of no-where.To be clear I am not saying bring your current characters to Gallia, as I said the royals will turn you away (or blow you up) although the council will love you. As for not knowing it exists in character, I know the news services in New Berlin and New Tokyo have been broadcasting what the Council has been saying about Gallia to Sirius, so I think a lot of character would know. All those in the core house systems at least. Now would they want to go explore? Most probably not I would say, as it is all kind of up in the air and crazy and scary right now. As for the OORPness, please provide examples, because as I said I play there a lot and I have not personally witnessed any of it from Gallic players. We get plenty of OORP Sirrians, but someone has to be there to tell them they are doing it wrong. More people are doing this now and it is getting better. What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - jammi - 04-29-2009 To be honest, those news articles are absurd. Every single base in Sirius has 'NEW HOUSE UNVIELED' screaming from it's news screens, even from factions that have no right to know. All they are is a oorp vehicle to spread the knowledge that Gallia around. What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - tazuras - 04-29-2009 Well as soon as Igiss says that (or even a dev or admin) I will believe it, and what is so absurd about them? What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - OsoRojo - 04-29-2009 As a slightly lawful.... (yes thats the term) trader, I have meandered through Gallia a few times due to second hand information I have gained. I must say the Royals are tightly wound bunch and I avoid'em like the plague, but the Council buggers are slightly nice. Overall, I have found my un... I mean lawful pursuits well worth the trip, mind you, avoid the Royals...*laughs* What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - VincentFerrex - 04-29-2009 I enjoy Gallia because the systems in it, the way they were designed, emulate 'real' outer space, where everything is large, and how everything is not on a level ground. Meh, if you ask me, everything should be like that. All they are is a oorp vehicle to spread the knowledge that Gallia around. I have never understood this way of thinking. We're talking about how many thousands of years in the future here? In the modern world, right now, all you have to do is turn on the TV and you'll get news from every corner of the world, news that you really don't need to know anything about and isn't any of your business. And we're talking about a future that has way more advanced communication devices than anything we've invented yet. Why would that be any different in the FL universe? Please explain this to me. I think it is perfectly in RP for word to have spread like wildfire about the Council breaking through and broadcasting their presence. Granted, Gallia isn't completely finished and so we that play there are limited on what we can RP so I'm not totally sure if Gallia should have been released like that or not. But the timing is another issue all together. None of that matters anyway, Gallia is well built with the potential for amazing RP and I for one am having great fun there. And yes, if we in the GRN catch Sirians in Gallia we hunt them down mercilessly. What Playing in Gallia is Like Currently (for those who haven't been mostly) - Lanakov - 04-29-2009 I approve of simply everything that tazuras said.I've been simply astonished by the quality of Gallia's RP even in it's early days, and I'm glad to see it's getting better and better. Another thing noone has mentioned yet is the GRP. This faction is just perfect as it allows you to create a corrupted lawful,it allows to play on two sides. And honestly,I love p irating sirrian traders. |
