Pirating - Recoil9000 - 05-02-2009
I was thinking about creating a pirate char, but I don't know where to start. I need any ideas on a ship and ID (and possibly good locations to pirate). There is also the chance that I may join one of the official factions. I should have enough money to create any type of pirate (gunboat and below), so that should not be an issue.
So what do you guys think? And I would like some input from any successfull pirates if that is posible

You need a train CD if you're pirating alone.
Freelancer IFF, pirate ID for an independent pirate who travels around Sirius.
Eagle, Roc or Zoner Gunboat would be good generic choices.

I really don't think the zoners would appriciate a pirate using the GB...
then again, technically, the zoners do come from many backgrounds, so if I RP it out well enough...

I agree with Robert, yes you will need a train disrupter, it is the best for transports.
I have an Outcast pirate character and I love it, there is a nice friendly atmosphere at Alpha (home system) and there are also a few Outcast offical factions for you to join.
At present I am still indie but I still have friends in the outcasts who come and pirate with me.
Things I use for pirating are;
- SNAC (Super Nova Anti-matter Cannon)
- Train Cruise Disrupter
- Falcata Outcast Bomber - Outfitted with Krakens

My characters are Outcasts, and from my experience Outcasts don't do as much pirating as some other unlawful groups. Outcasts are more like Sirius mafia. If I wanted to be a pirate, I'd probably join Liberty Rogues, or Corsairs.
