This is "Variant", representing the Research and Development branch of the Technocracy. While I specialize on the nature of observing spatial anomalies and the means to utilize them to better understand how the universe works, I have a lot of workload to do in Valravn, leaving me with little to no time to do things aboard my research vessel, the Pentation.

There are a lot of things our division is currently working on, but I'll focus on what I have described before. With the realignment of jumphole networks from the Blackout two years ago, most of the Baxter anomalies we were studying appear to have disappeared, which is a major setback to our research. However, I have been informed of something called Earhart, though I have never been there. Our current goals have therefore recently shifted to understanding the nature of the system, given its impossibility of tracing its precise location within or outside the Sirius Sector.

What we are lacking, though, are drones that can provide utility. Particularly those with dark matter sensitive scanners, mining arrays, and reinforced armor, since the risks are too great without proper escort. By allowing us to better concentrate on Earhart, we would be able to gather relevant data, particularly the alien structure in the middle and the exotic resources hidden within, which will aid us greatly in understanding such anomalies that are confounding our minds and to help provide additional data that may allow us to more fully grasp the nature of the universe.

I'm afraid the circumstances with the Final Journey project that Aetherius has been focusing on has elevated to a point where this is now a circumstance where all of us need to contribute. It can no longer be kept under tight wraps internally due to the Order insistence on spreading information and thus marking individuals with the memetic mark.

The outcome of this special operation will dictate our very future and clearing ahead for the Path To the Ascension. Should we fail, there may still be a glimmer of hope, but for our sakes, we need to expand on passive operations. We also solely lack commitment from personnel.

Overview:

Aetherius has been tasked with embarking upon the Final Journey, however the limited utilisation of resources has been great shortfalls in manpower, response rates, technological tools and counterop resources. The Order and our foes have been rapidly increasing their intelligence networks, while we suffer with resource deficiency and inadequate allocation. Our survival may stand upon this project, as the Sentinels are becoming more and more powerful, resisting conventional weaponary systems.

Resource Shortfall:

- More manpower required. Individuals who can fight, individuals who can assist in the invention, creation and manufacturing of next generation technologies. Success of this operation will guarantee an opportunity for the Technocracy to operate towards obtaining vital components for Gammu's liberation.

- Weapon technologies are lacking against the Sentinels. The discovery of the Anchor and their Subrelay stations with their unique sampling opens a new opportunity for further augmenting our overall arsenal.

- Expansion of Counter-Intelligence agencies required. Collaborators are required for countering the Core and Order's moves, ensuring overwatch of their steps is established.

- Extending the supply network in preparation of extended upkeep in the event of another blackout, and in the longterm plan of committing to the Ascension. Allies will be required in this journey to recovering Gammu's heritage, even if it may be a distasteful one.
