Random exits... Seriously - Mr.Fabulous - 05-05-2009 I was ponderin this question for quite a long time... There were a number of times that this problem has inhibited my ability to RP to the fullest... I think it applies to everyone, and which may explain why nobody talks in stations to RP... The problem is that if you stay in one spot too long, you get disconnected in a matter of minutes, with a message that the server has disconnected you... There were already a number of times this has made my day... 1.) The time when I was RPing over with the captain of the Liberty Assault BattleCruiser, where I was RUDELY interrupted by an unseen disconnection (the forum link to the details of the incident was deleted). 2.) I was having a nice chat in the bar over on Thalmes Outpost with a friend, and I was suddenly disconnected just for staying in the station for a time (it was going good, the RP value was great at the place too) I am totally discouraged to perform to the fullest of my RP ability, knowing I can't even read the Colony News Network for the latest headlines in-game, let alone talk to someone in the bar. I would REALLY like to know why this is happening, and the reasons for it to do so... It is highly unjustifiable that I get disconnected just because I stay in a station and drink my daily coffee while reading the news!!! (edit) oh... and HOW THE HELL DID IT LIST INTO FACTION RECRUITMENT, WHEN IT IS A BUG IN THE MOD!!!!???? Random exits... Seriously - Dra1003 - 05-05-2009 thats getting kicked for base idling its suppose to do that. and.. this is the wrong section of the forum Random exits... Seriously - Fellow Hoodlum - 05-05-2009 You get kicked for base idling after ten minutes. This is to stop players permanently keeping a slot when not actually playing on a busy server. Hoodlum Random exits... Seriously - Mr.Fabulous - 05-05-2009 Yeah.. But there might be times when I would just like to talk to a friend while drinking imaginary Gaian Juice as I hear a rumor about a better trade route... Is it that much to ask? Also... Can you explain the Liberty Assault Battlecruiser (in space too) sudden exit? (edit) actually... it isn't the Battlecruiser captain that disappeared... It was me, having a great view of the interior of the ship, and suddenly get disconnected just because I remain in formation with the captain Random exits... Seriously - Fellow Hoodlum - 05-05-2009 Nope, the idling timing will stay at ten minutes, have to imagine you are drinking in your cockpit in space. The Assault Battlecruiser's sudden exit is something entirely different, I expect that is connection related. Hoodlum Random exits... Seriously - Gabrielle - 05-05-2009 Cruise 15k above the base and pretend to have your drink at the bar, none will be the wiser of your location. Random exits... Seriously - triple88a - 05-07-2009 I'm glad that idle kick is set in place otherwise there would be 200 people online 24-7.. i wonder who would get a slot to play there. Random exits... Seriously - farmerman - 05-07-2009 Is it possible to get the "you'll be kicked" message a little earlier than it is now? Like maybe a minute or so earlier so you can better be able to launch and avoid that? Random exits... Seriously - Wolfs Ghost - 05-08-2009 If you're going to roleplay as you being Planetside or Station side, Group chat with said player, undock and stay near the station and play your ship as an AI until you're ready to Roleplay in space. That's what I've been doing if anyone has came to New London Yesterday and Today. Random exits... Seriously - dr lameos - 05-08-2009 I too would like a base idling warning message say a minute or so before it kicks you. |
