Patching Permission errors - Sabes - 02-11-2024 Hi everyone, I'm having troubles patching my game back up to the current version (haven't patched for a few months so quite behind). The launcher gives an error P01 "Access to the path [My path to Disco]\20231130-hotfix.zip is denied." I've run it in admin mode, no change. I've checked my folder and the zip file is there. I looked on here for help and for P01 it suggests downloading the patch zip file manually. I downloaded 20231223-hotfix.zip successfully, but in trying to download the pesky 20231130-hotfix.zip my download history says "needs permission to download". I'm stuck and not terribly computer literate. Any suggestions on things I can try to fix this? RE: Patching Permission errors - Nokri - 05-15-2025 I'm stuck on the same step (and all my game and mod folders are set as exception for antivirus). I downloaded the patches and hotfixes manually (https://patch.discoverygc.com/), but it won't help either, the launcher does not notice it. EDIT: Disabling the antivirus altogether did the trick! The launcher finally downloaded and implemented all updated! RE: Patching Permission errors - Deity - 05-16-2025 Hi there! The "P01" error usually means the launcher can't access or modify a file it needs — often due to permission issues or antivirus interference. Since you already tried running the launcher as admin and confirmed the file exists, here are a few more things to try: 1. Check Permissions on the File: - Right-click on 20231130-hotfix.zip, go to Properties, then the Security tab. - Make sure your user account has Full control. If not, click Edit and give yourself full access. 2. Temporarily Disable Antivirus: - Sometimes antivirus software blocks or restricts access to certain files. Try temporarily disabling it and then running the launcher again. 3. Manual Download Permissions: - If your browser or system says the file "needs permission to download," that might be a security setting. Try: - Using a different browser. - Right-clicking the download link and selecting "Save link as..." - Checking your browser’s download settings or security settings. 4. Try Safe Mode with Networking: - Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try downloading or running the launcher. This bypasses some third-party programs that could be interfering. |
