With Major Oldston being promoted to Colonel, it falls to me to take over Section-41. I thank him for his many years of service to the LSF and wish him the best with his new rank and responsibilities.

With my assumption of duties, I will be making changes to the structure of Section-41, namely within the rank and structure of the division. These changes are not to create strife or any friction with personnel, but make no mistake that they will be moving forward as I have been given unilateral control over the division moving forward. These changes are to make us more efficient in the field.

As much as I hate patrolling, the rest of you do it, so I won't shirk from my duty.

Patrol began in Alaska and our path took us to Pennsylvania after reports of unrest were brought to our attention. We entered the system to two Navy vessels and a Freelancer fighting a horde of Rogue Gunboats. They requested assistance but from all intents, they had it well in hand. We declined and resumed our patrol entering Texas, through Hudson, Bering, and back to Texas without incident.

From here, we entered California, Ontario, Colorado, and back to New York. Again, nothing to report from that part of the patrol. We RTB into Alaska for refueling and upon our second patrol, encountered a Freelancer within Alaska. We ordered them to stop. As we disrupted their engines, they flashed a LSF ID signifying their allowed access to Alaska. We cleared them for flight and advised they inform us ahead of time to prevent any misunderstandings in the future.

We continued our patrol, this time entering Texas where we encountered a Bristol Pilgrim Liner. Scans showed they were hauling Organic Capacitors from the Earhart systems. We checked contraband records and noted that they were not on the list of contraband for Liberty and allowed them to pass on their way. We entered Pennsylvania encountering a Liberty Carrier, the LNS Mesa Verde, in orbit of Erie. We hailed the ship and they responded oddly. Stating "we are here". We assume that the comms officer made a mistake in responding. We departed the system through Kansas and into Vespucci before returning via Magellan and California to Alaska where we encountered yet another Freelancer misidentified. It was a Liberty Gunboat flashing a Freelancer IFF with the proper Liberty Navy ID. We informed them of their system error and RTB.

As our operations change, so does our OPCON. Operation Lucent is one of those operations. This operation is meant to retrieve technologies outside of Human origin for detailed analysis and research at Chesapeake. Xeno Relics, Artifacts, and various technologies from Earhart and it's satellite systems are all included in these technologies which we are seeking to investigate. This is for the purposes of being prepared for when we discover the origin of the Pulse and can use that learned knowledge to ensure that something like the Pulse does not occur again.

This is quite difficult, however, considering the nature and location of many of these technologies. Much of Xeno Relics and Artifacts are located in the deep Omicrons and various items from Earhart are not always readily available due to the perplexing nature of the gates therein. Obtaining these technologies will take time, not to mention the research required on said items.

Currently, we've obtained crystals from deep in one of the uncharted systems within Earhart. Beyond that we are struggling to obtain any real artifacts of substance. We are planning an addendum to Lucent wherein we travel into the deep Omicrons to obtain Artifacts and/or Xeno Relics for further study.

It's no secret that the Corsairs, specifically Deterrence, have had a stranglehold on the sale price of Xeno Relics over the past decade since their discovery. With the destruction of their station in Omicron Delta, this creates an interesting opportunity. No doubt that within a few months, a new provider of these relics will pop up in the power vacuum the Corsairs left behind. However, until then, this means we may have a chance to obtain a healthy amount of relics and artifacts for research.

We've begun the arduous task of locating the origin of this resource. For many years, it has been suspected that this location lies somewhere within the deep Omicrons, but close enough to ferry these items from their origin to the former site of Reincarnation Outpost. We began with this information and launched Echo-8 to the vicinity of the former station’s location. Arriving at the site revealed debris that had already been picked over by Junkers, various other Corsair ship components, as well as a spattering of corpses floating through the vacuum of space.

Knowing they were in hostile territory, Echo-8 quickly put together an efficient search pattern, going grid to grid in search of evidence. A jump hole to a previously undiscovered system appeared on Echo-8’s scanner array shortly after they began. This system was identified as Omicron Pi. However, they were unable to enter the system as Core patrols in the area were increasing. Not wanting to show our hand to our frenemies in the Core, this forced Echo-8 out of the area. They recently arrived back home in Alaska, where they have moored back at Chesapeake. We will be sending out Echo-42 in the coming days for a more detailed analysis of the system to see if this is indeed where the elusive Xeno Relics originate.

During a review of Echo-8's sensor logs, we discovered a sensor ghost enroute to Omicron Delta in the system of Omicron Minor. These sensor readings were possessed of unique signatures. As such, we have bumped the intelligence gathering of Omicron Pi in lieu of this discovery. Echo-42 was instead sent to investigate these sensor ghosts to see if they were anything of relevance to Operation Lucent.

Upon arrival at the area where the sensor ghost was detected, Echo-42 came across an unexpected discovery.



Thousands of unknown particles were leaking from a damaged Nomad platform. Echo-42 wasted no time in scooping up as many as his cargo hold could carry and made a quick retreat back into friendly territory.



Preliminary research indicates that this gas is unique in the sense that it's particle composition exudes far more power than should be capable of it's makeup. I have directed the research team to keep me in the loop and advise if more of his gas is needed for further study. Already, Operation Lucent is showing progress. Once we have the location of these elusive Xeno Relics and Artifacts in hand, we can move forward with further study.
