Liberty Corporation Office Hit
Lake City, Erie - In the early morning hours of last Thursday, a construction site owned by Liberty super corporation Deep Space Engineering was surrounded by a sizeable crowd of protesters carrying posters, flags and smoke devices.

The manifestants demanded, with shouts and megaphones - for the the construction site to be abandoned, as it was illegal. A Libertad field reporter managed to get a few answers from one of the protesters: When asked about the "illegality" of the site, soon to be a district office, John Doe said that "These corporations do not have our interests in their minds. All they want is our natural resources, things that are ours by birth right... They can't just take everything they need and leave us with crumbs! It's absurd!"

Not long after the peaceful demonstration started, the Liberty Police arrived on the scene. With no warnings, they used concussion bombs and tear gas to disperse the crowd, and the protest quickly became chaotic. There are reports of wounded among the protesters, but no official statement by local police and medical centers has been released so far.

As for the state of the construction site, many walls were graffitied with ecological and freedom messages, with some windows and construction equipment broken. The organizers on the scene deny any violence from their side, saying that any property damage was caused by none other than the LPI itself, with their careless and indiscriminate usage of anti-riot weaponry.

I've always been amused by how people get used to the benefits of a developed industry, but they don't think at all about how they appear in their lives. Of course, close the factories, but don't be surprised by the increase in prices for goods later. Thanks to LPI for their work.

How can they say the construction site is not part of their interests?!
The corporation [DSE], with its construction activities, contributes to the creation of direct jobs in Liberty, but also to many indirect jobs. In fact, thanks to these activities, the entire economy benefits, not least because of the need to produce equipment, which factories all over Liberty have to produce, but also because of the trade it promotes on all planets and bases. What would become of many Liberty families if the [DSE], completely legal, mining activity ended? It is my firm conviction that these protests by extremists have little credibility among the citizens of Liberty!

These corporations have been exploiting worlds for far too long. The Zoners are right to fight for their land and resources. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right, and the Liberty Police's response was excessive and brutal. We need to hold these corporations accountable and protect the rights of all citizens, no matter where they live. #ZonerRights #LibertyCorpAccountability

Well, what was the name of the site? It's irresponsible of "Libertad" to provide us this story without also giving us meaningfully concrete details about the actual DSE operation so that we, as readers, can do our own research. I'm as in support of corporate accountability and zoning laws as the next guy, but if "Libertad" wants to maintain journalistic credibility, they need to do their due diligence and back up their reporting with facts. It's obvious that this network has an angle -- they should own it rather than hide it, and if they're right, the truth needn't shy from scrutinizing examination. #freeyourmind

I don't see what's so illegal about it. Either they bought the land fair and square, or they've been contracted to build on someone's behalf. The feverish response from the interviewee just isn't a legal argument. Seriously. If you have a challenge, you go through the proper channels, not harass people. They can protest, that's their right, but they shouldn't be surprised if they get dispersed for holding up people's work. Hope everyone walked away in one piece so we can all learn some valuable lessons.
