Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - douglas_brad - 05-13-2009 Updated model is the second image. (I left the original for comparison) Model was both lengthened and made thinner to make the Life Support section more prominent. Also, divided the hyper-massive windows for a Double-Decker style in addition to throwing on a kind of "crew" quarters section underneath. Original Post: Quote:Well, in regard to the Passenger Transport thread, I submitted a kind of joke concept to remedy the stop-gap in ship type. Although afterward, a few of you guys actually took a liking to the idea. On top of that, it also grew heavily on me too. After all, designing ships is a bit out of my reach, but this is becoming a very fun project!:DOriginal Model ![]() Updated Model Rear/Left ![]() Updated Model Front/Left
Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - VincentFerrex - 05-13-2009 o.O Pods that are like, customizable ship amenities, like a bar section, loung section, entertainment section, etc? The idea is wonderful! Except, don't make a single item the size of the whole pod. Say, make each pod with different designs, see-through windows and neatly designed interiors, with chairs, tvs, etc. Might take some time to get, but the modelling thing shouldn't be too hard for small things. Mmm, with things like this, maybe more custom-made transports could be designed to work with the cargo pod structure, so as to create truly unique designs, and deepen the immersiveness. I'm all for it! Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - pieguy259 - 05-13-2009 I LIKE IT! Does it have a door? Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - Benjamin - 05-13-2009 I dig this. Pretty much solves the people in transports side of the transportner/people/cargo 'furore' that has taken the web by storm. Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - douglas_brad - 05-13-2009 Quote:I LIKE IT! Aye, indeed. It's inside the big growth up front. The growth is in fact a stairway to the door so it's protected from hostile fire mid-transit. Quote:The idea is wonderful! Whoa, I'm still tryin' to wrap my brain around the extrude tool.:$Eventually I'll start going with a line of 'em, but I was just going to go simple as this is merely supposed to be the FL counterpart to city buses. Cramped, uncomfortable, smelly... Basically just a step above and slightly more humanitarian than herding people into cargo containers. Thanks for the input so far, keep 'em comin'. Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - pieguy259 - 05-13-2009 What's eventually going to be on the billboards? Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - Nitram - 05-13-2009 Love this. This should definatlye be expanded upon. Nitram. Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - Weedalot - 05-13-2009 :Dgood one Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - VincentFerrex - 05-13-2009 Perhaps you could have billboards that can be bought on respective bases of an NPC faction, the billboard itself showing the banner for that NPC faction. Heck, even just have a pod dedicated to having a big billboard. In fact, that would be great for RP, since we can RP a company, similar to moving-advertisements, throughout Sirius. Possibilities everywhere! Why Buy An Expensive Liner... - reavengitair - 05-13-2009 Looks nice. Some kind of moveable bar? |
