Discovery Freelancer Radio/DJ Station RP Project (Need Suggestions) - Lythrilux - 11-16-2024
Hello
In my downtime, I like to make music mixes. I find it therapeutic and fun especially when I've got a theme in mind or I'm making it for someone. I had a brainwave today about doing something like that for Discovery, but in roleplay. Freelancer by default has a solid soundtrack, and I feel a lot of it's tracks have influenced (or could have even inspired) some popular mainstream music we have today. For example, I could see this fitting snuggly in a Synthwave mix, or this in a Vaporwave one. I think it'd be very entertaining to cobble something together with a mixture of in-game music and some additional external selections, and people can listen to it when they play (even if they don't, it's great practice and gives me an excuse to go song digging). My current vision is to make something in News and Commerce, and also have things like advertisements for factions and in-universe products in between songs, maybe even make some skits using like GTA radio using NPC voicelines, AI(?) or my beautiful voice (it would, however, force my character to be Bretonian).
Question is, what kind of genre blends would the community be interested in? Synthwave? Jungle? Vaporwave? Techno? Genre-adjacent to the FL soundtrack? I would really like to know. Gotta make it worth listening to after all.

I could imagine some darkwave/gothic remixes as well. Examples for that kinda style would be: The Cure, Bauhaus, Joy Division, She Wants Revenge, ASP, Diary of Dreams. etc.
