Yeah nah, nah yeah. - Nodoka Hanamura - 01-19-2026

I was hoping I'd not have to write this, but sadly I guess I've been left with little choice otherwise.

Effective immediate I am withdrawing membership from all factions save TFP (more out of loyalty than anything) and dissolving Ouroboros. As far as I am concerned, Hanamura and her friends went on a tear through Kusari to get her sister back, unraveled their mysteries and fucked off to Gran Canaria to start a small colony or some shit. Why? Because fuck this place, I got mine, and all it took was realizing that I don't need this fucking place to do it.

Between the toxicity of this community, the failure to balance this game worth a shit, and the slow death that has started since mid last year, I've decided that that Discovery was as much of a fucking mistake as I was. And for once, I won't fucking blame Exodite for it, but instead many of the people who are members of, and leaders in this community.

To my friends - Gabi, Viss, Caedus, Cherry, Weapon, FoeHammer, Explorer, Frostpfote, SeaFalcon, Geoffacake, Kusari, Locksmith, Sagume, Amba, Awoo, Ven and certain Pink Fox. Thank you. You made me come this far. I'm sorry it's come to this disappointing end, but frankly I can't see myself giving a damn anymore. I'm sorry that so much has been left undone, so much left unsaid. I wish I could help you to where you wanted to go, but the harsh reality is, that what has soured this place will one day come for you too. If you want to know who to blame, I'll tell you if you don't know already. I'll do my best to stay in touch but for the most of you, the ties that bind when not watered often tend to go brittle. And when they do go brittle I will leave you only with wishes for a brighter future for you.

For everyone else - a message:

A lot of you should look inwardly at who you are as people and what the constant ooRP fighting and backstabbing has made you and this place become. Some of you who are leaders of the biggest factions or even members of the development and administration teams have no place being in the positions you are - being either insufferably virulent and hostile to anyone that even remotely irritates you or questions your vision, acting like a fucking gremlin -- or lethargic and not knowing when to let the sleeping dog fucking die, nor were some of you deserving of the pedestals I put you on - people I saw as friends, even elder figures I respected and trusted.

I wanted to do and create beautiful stories here with others, and finish things that I left unfinished when I left six years ago. But between story devs shafting factions I have had roleplay with or actively been involved in and a toxic community that is teetering ever so slowly towards collapse, I have had enough.

There's nothing sacred here. It's all rotten to the fucking core, and I see that now. What I once saw as an outlet for creativity and to help tell a story I thought was compelling, while making friends, memories and what not, has all been corrupted by the cruel truth to it all.

Goodbye.

Sad to see you go and the list of people you don’t think are toxic so small.

In any case, take care of yourself. We may not have interacted much but I do think we did meet on occasion and we did have good roleplay sessions. Maybe in time Discovery can become less toxic and you’ll be able to return… but in case that doesn’t happen, I wish you the best.

As a stranger, I wish you all the best and better times coming, whatever shape they may take.

Good luck out there.

RE: Yeah nah, nah yeah. - Karst - 01-19-2026

No Thank You's for Karst? : (
You're kinda right about some of the things you said. And if this place is just unpleasant to you, it's best to leave.

Take care, Nodocker. You've finally docked.

Best of luck in your future endeavors. Discovery can be quite draining which is the reason I take so many breaks and only come back for random fun instead of long detailed story writing. The story team can be quite frustrating to deal with when they take away player agency (sorry, not sorry).

Hopefully in time you're able to come back. I quite enjoyed your detailed writing and BBCode. Until then, Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Good luck for whatever the future brings you.

RE: Yeah nah, nah yeah. - Exploration - 01-19-2026

Well I was named so I should probably type words. Yeah some of the stuff you've said there is true. Hell we've probably spoken about it at one point or another even

Anyways. As others have said, good luck for what the future holds. I'm sure we'll run across one another again at some point, somewhere down the line

I am, unfortunately inclined to concur with what you said here, but I am not going to make it solely about it.
I do hope that I, and the rest, will be able to read more of your stories in the future when, or rather if, Disco, the community, and the framework around it, unfucks itself, pardon my expression, and when, or rather if again, you do come back.
It's always a heavy blow to the entire community to see someone leave, especially someone very dedicated like yourself. The pool of players, again, (that is) especially dedicated, is very small, and it will keep shrinking down until inevitably, none will remain. Especially due to circumstances that could've been avoided. You mentioned you wish to continue telling your stories, but again, like you said, the ooRP backstabbing, the metagaming... the pervasive rot within this community, does not leave many options at all.

So, I would also like to bid you farewell in your future endeavors in life.
Cheers, and good luck out there, I wish you the best.
