Honorable Corsair Elders
- Critical scorching to outer hull plating, requiring an emergency re-coating of the left dorsal section of one destroyer. It wasn’t quite a "bonfire," but it certainly left a mark.
- Long-range sensor array severely compromised, rendering navigation a tad more guesswork than it should be. A complete recalibration was required.
- Main coolant circulation lines destabilized, forcing a rushed rerouting of systems, nothing like a bit of last-minute improvisation to keep things interesting.
- Aft thrusters took a direct hit, leaving a gunboat temporarily unfit for a Sunday cruise, with repairs required to restore maneuverability.
- Gravitic field generators on another gunboat damaged, causing a brief but alarming instability in shields—nothing too dramatic, but it certainly made the crew’s tea taste a little more exciting.
- Fuel injection manifold breached, nearly resulting in a catastrophic failure. Luckily, it was caught just in time, but it did require a rather extensive overhaul.
- Primary solar panel arrays knocked out of alignment, reducing energy efficiency by 18%, not a disaster, but it certainly put a dent in our plans for a quiet evening.
- Communication relay node 7 sustained minor damage, temporarily interfering with long-range transmissions: nothing a bit of elbow grease couldn’t sort, but still an inconvenience.
What does this list mean to you?
You might look at it and think, "Oh dear, Torshavn must have been attacked by a deranged group of Gallic Royalists, or perhaps some other band of miscreants." But no, that’s not the case.
For us, this list, just a fraction of the total damages, means a significant financial setback, an absolute mess to clean up, and a growing list of worries about the future that we now have to contend with.
Despite the chaos caused, Torshavn Station remains fully intact and operational, which speaks more to the resilience of the Gaians than to any mercy from the 'Black Sails.' The insult doesn’t end there. After their humiliating retreat, the Black Sails had the audacity to complain about a single Gaian ship engaging Deterrence forces shortly after. Do they not realise that playing dangerous games often leads to dangerous consequences? That engagement was a direct result of Black Sails actions, occurring just moments after their failed siege!
Honourable Elders, I trust you understand the seriousness of this matter. The Gaians and the Corsair Brotherhood have long enjoyed a workable relationship. Yet the Black Sails seem intent on risking all of that with their reckless, unsanctioned actions and inflammatory rhetoric.
We did not forget the Gaian ships left rusting on Planet Crete due to your technicians' failure to maintain the necessary software updates. I would suggest you rein in these raiders and keep them well away from our operations. If you do so, I will see what can be done about the ships in question, getting them operational again would be a testament to sustainability and treating natural resources with respect.
I urge you to address this promptly. Should you require further documentation, I am happy to provide detailed logs of the engagement. The Gaians remain committed to our historical ties, but such actions threaten to undo the little trust we’ve built over the years."

Salutations to you Gaian,
I am not entirely sure who you are, but let me introduce myself. I am Nina Rodriguez and probably the youngest elder The Brotherhood ever had.
While I understand your situation made by the Black Sails, I am sincerely sorry to hear what happened. From what the Elder Cesar Gutierrez said, those 'Black Sails' are not like the old ones. I cannot speak if it is true or not. However, I might try to contact the Black Sails to ask them why they did such, but I want to hear from you first.
Tell me what exactly happened and then, I will let Cesar dealing with you.

Elder Rodriguez,
Allow me to explain the situation as it unfolded. It all began when the Black Sails requested to station a battlegroup at Torshavn. Now, I can’t speak for all Gaians, but personally, I’ve always championed the idea of fostering a diverse and multicultural environment on Torshavn. Despite our differences, I see the value in solidarity with the Corsairs. I believe this relationship, uneasy as it may be at times, proves critical to our movement’s goals, and a necessary step toward a brighter future.
However, their second demand was utterly ludicrous: they asked for two “Caliburn” Destroyers and four “Galatine” Gunboats. Many would argue that I alone have pockets deep enough for such a request, but let me be clear: these ships are not only expensive, both financially and environmentally, to produce, but the Black Sails lack the trained personnel to even operate them. It would be like handing a child a Neural Net Interface and expecting them to navigate it without frying their brain to smithereens.
When we had to refuse to comply with these demands, they resorted to threats. Not idle threats, mind you, for these are the same individuals who have already attacked Gaian vessels before. They then claimed they would send a diplomatic delegation, but of course, what they really meant was that an entire battlegroup was on its way. Their intention was to siege Torshavn, but fortunately, their attempt ended in failure. It does not bring me any joy to engage Corsair vessels in combat, but worse: this sets a dangerous precedent. Soon after we successfully repelled their forces back into the jumphole, reports soon reached us of at least one Gaian ship engaging a Corsair formation in another system.
It does not take a genius to understand how one thing can lead to the other, thus these developments are deeply troubling, especially since they were instigated by the reckless actions of a few.
As I’ve said before, the Gaian movement and the Brotherhood should not be dragged into pointless conflicts by reckless warbands like this new iteration of Black Sails. I trust we can remain wiser than that and avoid being manipulated into a course neither of us desire to follow. Help us sort out this little problem, and I’ll do everything in my power to assist you with those pending software updates for those cloaking Panthers.
Again, I cannot speak for every Gaian in the movement, but perhaps I could even raise the topic of gunboats and cruisers, myes?

Since Cesar seem probably unable to do anything right now, I will do what I can do. In fact, I already sent a message to the Black Sails to get their perspective. I cannot guaranty anything yet, but what I will ask is to remain patient until I reach you if the problem will be solved or not.
In addition, while at it, if you can, avoid all interaction with the Corsairs, mostly the Black Sails at the moment.
On this, let me take care of everything.
Elder Nina Rodriguez
