Freeport relays to: Allies and partners || From: Phoenix - Soban - 01-17-2025

In the year 831, the Corsair Empire claimed a hollow and pyrrhic victory at Freeport 9.
This so-called triumph came at a devastating cost, with countless lives lost on both sides. The aftermath was no less tragic, the destruction of this critical trade hub plunged the region into famine and despair.

Yet the Deterrence were not satisfied with their "victory". Their insatiable ambition drives them to tighten their hold on the Zoners, seeking to bring them under an oppressive thumbs.
The so-called "Treaty of Theta" is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to justify their control over independent installations. Worse still, the document itself reveals their broader intentions: “Omicron Theta, as a starting point, will become a protectorate”.
True to form, the Deterrence has embarked on yet another campaign of terror and senseless violence, revealing its disregard for the sovereignty and dignity of others.

But their actions betray their words:

They promised Zoners the freedom to establish armies, civic structures, and any form of self-determination, yet they now threaten to evict the SLRC from Pygar. (1)
They released Freeport hostages, only to plot further abductions by luring unsuspecting trade ships, intending to take new captives as leverage. (2)
They claim to offer protection, yet they bombard stations without hesitation. (3)
They perpetrate atrocities and attempt to cover their tracks through orchestrated "accidents" and fabricated evidence. (4)

As defenders of liberty and independence, we ,Phoenix, will not bow to their tyrannical aspirations.

We will not stand for this. We will not yield to their outrageous demands.
Our independence is not merely a right but the source of our pride and identity.
Phoenix stands as a sanctuary, welcoming all without prejudice, offering respite in a galaxy fraught with turmoil.
It is this commitment to equality that the Corsairs cannot tolerate, for they demand to be placed above all others.

Should they test our resolve, they will find us unyielding. Effective immediately, we are placing exceptional bounties on all members of the Deterrence, whether they pilot combat ships or transports.
As well as offering generous rewards to those brave enough to protect our convoys.
We recognize that Phoenix cannot challenge them in a direct confrontation, but we can disrupt their trade and cripple their economy.
To those who choose to remain neutral, we bear no ill will; your stance is respected.

This conflict also presents an opportunity for those bold enough to seize it. While the Deterrence concentrate their ire upon us, others may find it the perfect moment to strike at the heart of their operations.
To aid such endeavors, we will open all Phoenix bases to those who stand with us, offering unfettered access to resupply and repair facilities.

Diplomacy remains on the table. Ultimately, this strife will end either with a revised treaty or with formal recognition that Phoenix may remain outside its constraints, free to trade as we see fit and unimpeded by the Corsair Empire’s attempts to dictate our dealings.
