what about personal tax? - tyro - 05-18-2009 what about personal tax? everywhere on the world, during the whole history of civilization the taxes are present. i am sure in the future even for 1000 years taxes will be present. so, maybe we could implement tax in the discovery mod? I see it as a perishable commodity, which would be sold on every capital planet of every house: NY, NL, NT, NB. That would be only RP consequences of paying or not paying this tax. The police could check whether citizen paid tax, and they could demand penalty ticket, if someone doesn't have it. That tax-commodity could be different for every house, so we could recognize who is citizen of liberty and who is bretonian an who is on.eg. gallic junker. There could be agreements between house authority and Zoners. Zoners could tax their ppl by self and it would be valid in house space. If anybody doesn't want to pay tax, he could not enter openly to house space, he has to live in the independent worlds. If you will die, you lose tax. Pirates and traders additional possibilities. There are many RP possibilities. The period of validity and the value would be of course to discussion. On example: period = 10 hours in game, value : 1mil for transport ship, 5mil for capships, and 100k for others. today I have problems with taxes, so, just a random thought. what about personal tax? - Athenian - 05-18-2009 I play Discovery for escapism...only to escape to...taxes? If this is implemented I will only play pirate or terrorist characters. what about personal tax? - tansytansey - 05-18-2009 Honestly, how many people can you see actually WANTING to pay taxes? what about personal tax? - ophidian - 05-18-2009 Put 20cargo space worth of tax ID to a ship, making them trade for 20cargo less everytime and here is your virtual tax applied over generated income. However, it may sound good for RP but it may be a bit... ***...*squeezing*..*** the fun? what about personal tax? - reavengitair - 05-18-2009 Baaaaad. Please. Don't. Just. No. Please. PLEASE! what about personal tax? - Jamez - 05-18-2009 While I like the fact you'de made the effort to think of new things to add to the mode and took the time to post it with a good description.. I really don't like the idea, sorry. what about personal tax? - tyro - 05-18-2009 That would be only RP consequences of paying or not paying this tax. If you don't want to pay, so don't pay, but be aware if police catch you, you will pay more. This tax won't be so squeezing, 10 hours in game it is much. Every 1 hour trader can earn 10mil easy. If you are fighter, 100k it is only one mission. 5mil for capships it is big but Navy and police official factions would have agreements with government to be free from tax. Indi capships should pay. People who wants to hang on the Manhattan orbit only, would have to consider the costs of this. It would be real reason for Zoners, why they want to live outside the house space. They don't want to pay tax. If they want to trade with houses, they should pay tax. etc. etc. etc. It was just random thought and I saw the whole RP opportunity from this. If you don't like, no problem, waste it... what about personal tax? - centauri5pirate - 05-18-2009 I for one think it's a great idea...OBAMA. But just one question....are you planning to take away the guns on my ship next? All facts aside, I believe this would create three types of characters here on the server.... police/house military looking for a fast credit from unknowing/unwilling players, traders turned smugglers, just for the fact that moving normal goods would run the same risk for fines and payments as the more lucrative illegal goods, and pirates more than anything. The more you tighten your grip on the hard working person, the more they will resist and find shady ways to accrue their cash. My 3 cents. (2 cents plus tax) what about personal tax? - Fellow Hoodlum - 05-18-2009 Tyro, you wish to pay tax, please go ahead, I'll give you the bank details where it can be deposited ... Oh hell, just leave it with Sophie in The Ship Inn on Newark Station, she'll see it gets to the right place. Hood what about personal tax? - Derkylos - 05-18-2009 Who, precisely, would actually be paying taxes? Military...not while on duty, police, the same. Corporate traders...well, the corporation is paying. Pirates...no... So, that leaves..freelancers...and...umm...freelancers? Yay? |
